Salary range for managers

Forget experience. What the hell have you done to earn the right to consider management?

Ummm nothing. I didnt think forest had and requirements to become a DM? I heard it was one of the few remaining pharmas that actually hire DM's with no experience and this is the way they like them. Green and non boat rockers, yes men puppets who would shit on the sword for that 78K base salary. The DM's I have seen at forest could not run a toll booth.

Forest hires managers with no experiance so they can pay them low. The same reason they hire reps with no experiance. They do this to keep their cost down, they have 4 people selling in pods when they only need 2. Managers could make 85-95 starting. Forest is a steping stone company to get you in the door, you dont go there with experiance. This company is sinking fast, and its fucking hillarious to watch!! Have fun with ANOTHER SSRI, what a joke! What happened to the AMAZING Forest Pipeline???

Most people are just happy these days to have a job - experience or not. There are a lot of experienced reps that have had to take contract jobs and I would think that working for Forest and at least getting a company car would be better than a contact job that is most likely going to end.

there are no vanc reps. Pfizer reps get 110k base on average. Cubist reps get 100K base on average. What do forest reps get to sell Teflaro with15- 20 years experience? Is it worth the move?

Ok, so one person says 78K and another says 150K, so which is it?

Why are the rep salaries so low?

The managers make a 10% bump in whatever their salary was before becoming manager. Period. Plus bonus (which is based on their team's rank). Thus, just a bit more than what they were making as a rep, specialty rep, RST, etc. They don't come anywhere near 150.

It depends on who your manager is and what state/market place you'll be working in potentially. What area are you considering?

I have been the employee of the quarter 3x at enterprise rental car and was recruited fairly hard by the regional dir. at Forest through a mutual friend, I worked the counter and was in management training for 2 years. Forest offered me 82.5K to come on board as a DM in the midwest, when I tried to negotiate as this was at least 25K less than the average pay for DM in this industry they said I was being removed from the process as they simply cannot pay this kind of money for DM positions and it was not in their sales model. Interesting.

Since then, I have taken a job with a competitor as an entry level reps and was offered 78K with a volvo and 150.00 a mon/for cell phone, 401k match at 100%, 3 weeks vacation granted first day of hire, 10 PTO sick days on top of vacation, no counterparts, training was 5 days M-F, no ROOMMATES, great hotel in modern clean major city, free evenings and non mandatory dinners, this was a OPTIONAL CHOICE TO ATTEND, no role play except in small one on one parters and open bar at 4pm when the day finished, usually earlier than 5pm but we did go to 530 on the first day for HR orientation.

I spoke to a couple friends at Forest and they shit their panties when I told them what my first job in pharma was like and if I made a good choice by getting denied from Forest and ending up at my new pharma. They wanted to trade spots immediately and said that everything I experienced was the polar opposite of what it is like working Forest, I am so thankful that this happened, keep your heads up, my friends who work at forest can not find other jobs so they put up with the crap temporarily but they only work 15-20 hrs a week so they are not complaining to much to have a full paying job even at the tiny 55K for only working 2 days a week. I cannot believe how bad Forest sounds, and even though I trust my friends exp. are truthful and after reading this board, it sounds like I dodged a major bullet. How pathetic is this company??? Scary baaaadddddd. I feel for all of you, or most of you, there is much better options out there for good people who are not afraid to tell an employer that quality of life and work life balance is a priority and culture is a major deal breaker, good companies who treat empl. with respect and that are first class want to only hire empl. who verbally express to them that they are only in this for the right reasons, and that a work life balance in an adult environment is a priority not luxury.

So many of you forest people sound so beat down and miserable, dear man, grow up get a pair and find a real company that wants to hire and treat you with adult tendencies and not like a 22 yr old child who needs to be commanded and ordered around the work place......

Soooo, why are you on here? Whatever dude, you got what you think is a good job. EVERY job has its BS and I am sure yours is not an exception. It's pretty easy to make a "pro" list.

Whatever dude, so you got a decent job. Well aren't you somebody? NOBODY CARES. May I be the first to tell you-it doesn't mean anything. Coming on to OUR site and bragging is so impressive. Darn, you are hot stuff!!!

Whoop de damn doo! Alert the media!

EVERY job has its BS and yours is no different. Feel free to give us advice and tell us to leave and find a "real job". Lots of us are reps making well over 100K, have several hundred thousand bucks in our 401Ks, 4 weeks vacation, and are under the radar. HEYO! Managers are disposable, good luck finding another job when your company is sold, taken over, or merges. Somebody has to SELL some stuff out there and let's face it, it isn't you. We are employable. You? Not so much.
