Salary question

I was contacted by a recruited in regards to a position in the industry. I was pretty content with my current gig, so when she asked me my salary I embellished a little bit. After hearing more about the opportunity and speaking with the manager, I decided I actually did like this company and accepted their offer. Of course the salary was based off of what I had told them and now they want to verify during the background check portion with pay stubs and w2. Should I write on there my actual salary so it matches my w2 and pay stub? I only verbally stated my salary prior? I really want this position now and don't want to mess it up

You lied. You don't deserve the job.
