salary expectations

I'm in the final interview for a primary care position on the east coast. I have two years of pharma experience. What can I expect for base salary and do they negotiate at all? Also, what is an average bonus per quarter and how many reps actually meet quota? What do you have to pay for personal use of the company car? Thanks. I appreciate it! Sorry for so many questions!

I too am interviewing and would like to know. The DM told me that if I was just a "middle of the road rep" I could expect 8k per quarter. How true is this? Seems a bit high.

Ask the hiring manager, and call current reps. Get their numbers from the manager. Or simply review the previous threads on this board, this is all common knowledge and clearly answered. Do a little DD on this. Salary is the industries lowest and bonus will depend on coverage and how bad the previous rep was, certainly they were fired. Forest has the highest turnover rate in the industry and for good reason. 52K non negot. base salary and weak to average bonus, the real problem is the micromanagement as 152K is still not enough base salary to go through what you are put through with training, daily harassment and low brow pressure to be a ikon copier salesmen and used car lizard. I would rather collect unemployment than work for Forest, in any capacity.

Forest is probably the least respected company in this industry.

52-55k base with 2 to 5 % raises based on last year (used to be a lot more). If you kick ass, 10k bonus (the VERY top), top 25% 8k,if you're in the middle about 4k, if you're near the bottom, 2 to 3k. After taxes it doesn't make much difference. The 15k bonuses, contests with killer prizes, and big raises appear to be GONE. Yes, this is still a good paying job, a damn rocket scientist makes the same or less. However, the days of reps at Forest making 150k are gone. I made 45-55k in bonus- three times and not very long ago, nobody makes that anymore and nobody can stay at the top every quarter for years, nobody. If you got too many big raises like many of us have, you're probably on the "out" list. Free car, good benefits, profit sharing...check. It takes 3 years to get 3 weeks vacation and 9 to get 4.

I started with Forest 3 years ago at about $52K/ yr. I've been in top 25% all 3 years and my base is up to $61K now and made another $40K in bonuses last year. I'd say $24K/ yr in bonuses is realistic for an average performing territory.

Since you're bonus was really high, that doesn't sound bad. Sounds like the average rep would be making only 75K on average though. I am surprised by how low the base salaries seem to be here... I am on a contract and my base is 65K+. Granted, the bonus structure is not great since it's contract, 12K-15K a year. It's a decent contract though, real selling and not just a signature-chasing gig. But, of course, still looking for better opportunities and this will end soon anyway.

I'm curious what the general age range is for sales force at Forest? With lower base salaries, are many of the reps in their 20s?! Or does Forest value experience but just won't pay for it?
