Merck will never divulge those salary ranges to its field force because that would cause quite an uproar. The following is the "Market Median" that was determined by Merck after it conducted its research both inside and outside of pharma. This is not the "Merck Median."

S1 - $85,000
S2 - $95,000
S3 - $105,000

My ex-partner is an S2 and his salary is only $70,000. That is after he received a 7% bump for being placed as an S2 and a 1.8% merit increase. Needless to say he was mortified when he heard what the market baskets were!!!

He's not the only one who is still feels battered, some of us received a lot less with no bump and no merit beyond a cup of Mickey D's coffee once a week. A lot worse than feeling mortified.
 












The interesting thing here is that Mother Merck will not tell you the S averages they are using are industry averages not Merck averages. I have been in limbo with the merger and was kept an S1 and my salary is so far away from 85k that I can not me light at the end of the tunnel.

What MBA, grad degree or even BA with years of experience could work for 45K? Spare me the insult. This an temeporaty short term entry level salary for a BA grad kid without any work experience. Taking advantage of the economic conditions by offering highly qualified employees such inadequate compensation is the thinking of an idiot.

true enough, but even an idiot can be correct. There are plenty of people out there willing to take a Contract sales job. It is the way of the future.

Buckle up, it is going to get a lot worse for the sales force.

MBA? Grad degree? to do THIS job, surely you jest. 45k + bonus and a car, 1000 app's tomorrow and meets all company cost cutting measures without any loss in share.
 












Grow up the ones complaining are the ones making the most money. If you would put more effort into selling instead of complaining then we wouldn't have to be downsized. DUMBASS!!!!
