Rumors of layoffs

The rumors are partly true but will occur later in the year. Based on tenure and success within company. The more years you are here then the worst off you will be. they do not want to pay us. They rather get some one with B2B experince and pay them a lower salary and get about the same results. I beleive this will work but since it is not in my hands good luck looking for jobs.

And how exactly do you know this? Are you drinking buddies with Kevin Bueller or something? This is about the millionth rumor of layoffs. When they did the first round there were NO rumors and I would expect the same if it happens again.

Only the Novartis Sr. Management knows what is really going to happen. No one at Alcon (even Sr. Management) knows what Novartis is going to do. If your manager is trying to paint a "rosie" picture, take it with a grain of salt, nod your head and agree. Hopefully, Novartis will get rid of the Alcon "bullies" who are at Corp, mostly the directors (dictators) and their direct reports (bullies). Someone should step up and file a class action harrasment suit. A lot of the managers and supervisors do not even have a college degree or say they are "working" on one, on line. They single out 1 or 2 people as their favorites, who are as dumb as a can of rocks to mentor and favor - job security for the manager, I guess. They use the "favorites" to report what is going on within the dept - to be in the "gossip" loop. They will even go as far as upgrading the "favorite" to keep the information coming in....
The sad part is that the managers and supervisors gossip about other employees to the "favorites" - It's almost comical, how sad...
Hopefully, Novartis will be there for all the other hard working people, who want to do a good job and weed out the rest. Novartis has to be better than what we have now!
Good Luck To All!

Maybe Novartis will compare all the managers and supers with the number of employees in their departments. Alcon has a manager or super for every 5 to 10 employees. they could save lots of money by letting the employees do their jobs and get rid of all the management that is not needed.
