I spent 3 days in England this week and asked many people what they thought of this event. To a person, all replied essentially "we don't give a shit". The only people who care about the Royal Family anymore are us Americans. One guy pretty much summed it up this way: America has DisneyWorld, Great Britain has the Royal Family. Priceless.

Hoops...you're probably right about the American obsession. The question is why will the streets of London be lined when the day arrives? Souvenirs will be sold, the Brits have a holiday. etc.

I just hope Kate doesn't buckle to the pressures as Diana did.

I've always said that the Royal family is nothing but a tourist attraction. Having said that, I did see the Queen leaving Buckingham Palace from 8 feet away in 2001...........

Most Britts think it is a waste of taxpayer money to keep supporting the Monarchy, when so many are jobless. I used to be a Royal Junkie when Princess Diana was alive, but have not cared much for it after. I think it might go the way of Marie Anttoinette if the natives keep getting restless.
