Roommates

Yes you do have a roommate! Get a doctors note that you snore, etc and you can have your own room! It sucks, being an adult, that you have to share a room. I think this is possibly the last company in Pharma to do this because of all the complaints. Years ago, I had a roommate for my 3 weeks of training and every National, POA meeting that followed. Sometimes we need a little "down" time after being with everyone all day.

Another obvious post from a Purdue r***** let go years ago. There are NO roommates at New Hire training. At NSM and future training there will be roommates. BFD.....

I have been with Purdue for 8 years and we have always had roommates. It is ridiculous. Fortunately now I have a doctor's note and my own room. It is insane.

When I accompany my wife to computer conferences, or training, for Oracle (formerly Sun), her only roommate is ME! And she wouldn't be made to have any other roommate, if I were not there.

We get put up in a hotel ranging from Hotel Nikko to "W", whatever's closest. Sometimes we slum at a Marriott.

Meals over $25 each have to have receipts.

She's allowed one one pay-per-view each night and one phone call per day to call home, but since I'm there with her she uses it to call someone else. She's encouraged to carpool from the hotel, but if she wants her own car, she's only allowed a subcompact and if she wants anything bigger, she has to pay the difference.

I do have to pay my own airfare (except when she's been able to find a TwoFer flight)! Life can be such a pain!

No, I am not a "let go Purdue r*****" and when training was at the old Bissell House we DID have roommates for the 3 weeks......Check your facts before you post!

Do we have roommates at training or meetings?

Yes, roomies at training is a non debate. You have roommates and it is a miserable experience. Forcing adults to "bunk up" in a standard hotel room with a stranger for weeks is absolutely low brow and a deal breaker for me, when I found out that Purdue requires this, I was out and found a real biotech with single rooms and adult treatment. Roommates went out of my picture after grade school. A true sign of the culture is the forced roommate scenario, beware!!!

Forcing anyone over the age of 12 to have a bunkie and roomy for weeks at a time in a stressful horrid environment like pharma training is inhumane and bush league. I like the OP took a "no thanks" on this position a few months ago when I learned about the sharing a standard hotel room and the militant training agenda. I am a grown ass adult, I am not a day camper at Hollow Woods Lake Day camp circa 1983. I would be curious to know how many top talented producers Purdue lost due to this silly and ridiculous show of disrespect and trust to allow adults to have the privacy and confidence that they will have separate living quarters. What a fucking farce. There are better and more realistic ways to show who the "power player" is in the training process, this is nothing more than a show of the belt and power, the forcing of adults to room together is mickey mouse bullshit.b

YES and the HR issues that arise after these roommate situations should show the company that it is not worth the risk but they are too cheap. I have had roommates who snore, who come home at 3 am, who walk around naked, who sleep around on their spouse, who have gotten so drunk that they poop/pee on the floor. It is outrageous.

This is a deal breaker for me. I was considering interviewing but seriously, big deal or not, I'm not going to suffer through meetings with roommates or try to get a doc to write me an excuse. Get a clue Purdue, roommates are OUT.

I bet the faggs in your company have a hay day with the whole roomate gig. LOL..Your competitor. We get suites with one bedroom king beds, kitchenetts and living rooms with flat screen TVs. No joke folks. Our company does not want to deal with that type of HR issue and treats their employees well. Sorry to hear you all have to be roomies.

Best one I've had yet is walking in on my roomate jacking off in bed using lube. Then he tried to hide it and act like nothing was going on. That was really uncomfortable for me so I just left the room and stayed with someone else for the night.
