Roddy finally FIRED?

Word on the street is that Roddy finally got fired for alcohol or substance abuse while on calls. Apparently, Lynch finally had the balls (not really) to fire the drunk, drugged up red-neck. Had this happenned 3 or 4 years ago we would probably not have such a fucked up leadership team or 40% turnover.

Lessons learned right?

He got canned for doing drugs during a call with one of his managed care folks. Forest knew about this for 5 years and had numerous complaints filed from reps and DM's, but sat on it because Roddy was buddies with Renner.

I guess this was the straw that finally broke the camels' back.

No WAY Rod F. He is one of the most professional, upstanding, quality people in this company. They are talking about someone under Renner, not Peter. Do not even get this rumor started. Rod F is the best.

They are talking about MONTY RODDY, the former ABD out west. His last position with the company was Area Director of Managed Care (also out West).

Rod Francisco is indeed one of the finest, most professional people at Forest. Please do not mix his name into this mess.

As far as Monty goes - he was always nice and professional to me. I never saw any outward signs of drug abuse, nor did I ever notice him messed up at any of the many meetings we attended together. I am not questioning if he had issues - unforunately it sure seems like he did. However, I will not bash him - instead, keep him in your thoughts and hope things work out for him.

As a six month newbie launching Lexapro....looking back I made a rookie mistake by calling out a doctor and challenging him on every objection - regardless if it was valid.

This office called in a complaint to HR and Monty called me into his office to meet - anticipating the worst. He sat me down, offered me a fat chew, and asked if I thought what I did was wrong. Nervously, I said yes. He looked at me straight in the eyes and said " I'd rather you do what you did than puss out and back down from a doc who doesnt have the patience to evaluate new data and new technology. He said - try to rectify the situation when you feel the time is best, remember to keep your cool regardless of your conviction - and never lose that fire in your product belief.

I have been in device sales for two years - doing fairly well I will humbly say - but I never forgot that conversation from Monty. Problems, addictions, isssues---what have you. Monty was an expert motivator, a real person -not a robot, and told it how it was. What this company would be like if it had Monty at his best.
