Rick Tillyer is gone.

That roach will never die. He will be back again in the future.

He is the most amazing opportunist I know. Why Peter Kim hired him back to Merck only shows how shallow and deluded Peter Kim is and was. Tillyer was instrumental in destroying Merck R&D and making an obscene amount of money for doing so.

There is no god.

He was a typical corporate blowhard: full of sound bytes, cliches, and slogans.
I was quite fond of the UK and all things British, until I heard this douche speak a couple of times.
He's the type that if your house was being flooded by hurricane Sandy, he'd tell you how critical it is to get a bigger bucket...how important it is to focus your efforts...shovel harder...blah, blah, blah. An empty shell with nothing innovative to contribute. Zilch.

Even if his departure is true, like everything else at Merck, it comes 6-7 years too late. The damage by Peter Kim and Tillyer is already done. Good luck picking up the pieces.

A cronie of Roger from Amgen

When I saw this thread, I wondered if it was true and am hopeful that it is. This guy brings nothing to the game. Then I thought, perhaps Perlmutter does have some insight into the problems at this company as this is the type of decision I had expected months ago. Maybe he know how to treat the disease debilitating R&D. Now I am concerned by the last post, as it would reflect a business as usual approach. This organization does not need yes-men at any level, particularly at the top.

so are the other Br clowns at Merck and throughout the industry. They are very good at BS.
