Richard Kim Ousted

A new era has started. So let’s leave the pass behind.

The problem with your statement (other than the spelling error), is that this "leader" destroyed quality people's careers over his 5-year reign of terror, while propping up some of the most incompetent individuals in all of pharma: DD, JN, DW etc

He's a pathetic little human being who karma is finally getting around to addressing.

Okay. So how do we change it and take advantage of this new opportunity? Other than having a complete overhaul which history shows never works how do we change the culture? DD, DW and specially JN are drones and they will go with the wind. Eventually I agree they need to be put out to pasture.

Spot on. And you had the hutzpah to note the initials of people you believe are not worthy of the support Richard Kim gave while destroying others. Now, the diatribe dedicated to people who think they are good or maybe even 'great' business leaders across this country; yet nothing of the sort.

So, 'our' real world take on this Richard Kim: 'leader' of people, strategic genius, business acumen extraordinaire! This person in leadership positions possessing high, unflappable integrity, ethics, morals in all dealings and circumstance as he oversees business and dare say, people's professional livelihood.

Richard Kim is a ______. Plain and simple. He deserves the _____. But life in corporate America is not that way. It all too often REWARDS the weak, deadly types with half-a-brain; less no consistent sense of dignity. People like said are simply unethical, weak and unprincipled when they need to be the most principled. I'll say it again, when principles mean the most are when the conditions are the most stressful, difficult or "worst". They then thrive via manipulative maneuvers even they likely believe are perfectly "fine" and acceptable in the work place. Secretly, they hope their secrets never get out to those in power above or around their professional world.

Richard Kim appears to target individuals that don't fit his 'view' or supports others of like mindset. Not proven poor performers, but his "world" view as some demi-god might. He has a ________ chemistry degree from Alberta. Some of us are far more educated, far more experienced, far more successful across our careers. But experienced an apparent unethical, immoral wrath. And some like said person seemed to never blink as your "15 to 30+ years commitment, success and loyalty are tossed to the ________ ditch.

Richard Kim and others like such are precisely what is wrong in corporate America. And they will not change for the better. And too few "catch" them on the front end as they network their "next move", "out clauses" to continue that pattern of behavior elsewhere in another division or new company. And they will never apologize, retract, refrain or repent. They simply have no depth of what most of us have- fairmindedness, unconditional sense of justice and integrity at all times, less a manipulative mental make-up.

Avadel Pharmaceuticals Appoints Richard Kim as Chief Commercial Officer to Lead the Commercial Launch of Once-Nightly FT218
PDF Version

DUBLIN, Ireland, Feb. 17, 2021 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Avadel Pharmaceuticals plc (Nasdaq: AVDL), a company focused on developing FT218, an investigational, once-nightly formulation of sodium oxybate designed to treat excessive daytime sleepiness and cataplexy in adults with narcolepsy, today announced the appointment of Richard Kim to the newly formed role of Chief Commercial Officer. In this role his responsibilities will include leading all aspects of the U.S. commercial launch of the company’s lead program, once-nightly FT218, pending regulatory approval.

“Richard joins our team at an important point in the company’s history,” said Greg Divis, Chief Executive Officer of Avadel. “Richard has over 25 years of biopharmaceutical commercial experience with direct leadership of successful product launches in the U.S. and around the world to treat specialty and orphan diseases. His hands-on experience in building world-class teams, capabilities and infrastructure to support the commercial launches of those innovative new drugs will play a critical role at Avadel as we accelerate our commercialization strategy for once-nightly FT218, in preparation for the highly anticipated U.S. regulatory approval.”

“I was drawn to Avadel because of the potential its investigational, once-nightly FT218 product offers as a game changing therapy for patients living with narcolepsy,” said Mr. Kim. “I am excited to have the opportunity to work alongside the amazing Avadel team and build upon the positive momentum they have already established for the once-nightly FT218 program, including completion of the pivotal phase 3 study, submission of the NDA to the FDA at the end of last year, and the ongoing preparation for a successful commercial launch.”

“It isn’t often that a new product has the potential to offer such a significant advancement in patient care for an established multi-billion dollar market. If approved, I believe FT218 will be the preferred choice for sodium oxybate drug therapy and provide a potentially life-changing option for narcolepsy patients, while creating value for our shareholders,” concluded Mr. Kim.

Mr. Kim has over 25 years of commercialization, marketing, development and managerial experience in the biopharmaceutical industry in the U.S. and abroad. Prior to joining Avadel, he was at Intercept Pharmaceuticals, Inc. (Nasdaq: ICPT), where he most recently served as the President of U.S. Commercial & Strategic Marketing. During his time there he helped to successfully launch OCALIVA™ (obeticholic acid), the first new treatment in nearly 20 years in an orphan disease, Primary Billiary Cholangitis, and led the launch strategy for obeticholic acid for the treatment of NASH. Prior to joining Intercept, Mr. Kim worked at Bristol-Myers Squibb, where he served as General Manager, Hepatitis C Worldwide Commercialization where he led the successful worldwide launch of DAKLINZA™ (daclatasvir) for hepatitis C. Prior to this, Mr. Kim held a number of roles of increasing responsibility leading sales, operational and strategic marketing teams at Bristol-Myers Squibb, including Vice President, SPRYCEL™ Brand Lead, Oncology Global Marketing; Vice President, U.S. In-Line Oncology and Global Marketing; and Vice President, East Area Sales, Cardiovascular and Metabolics. Prior to his time at Bristol-Myers Squibb, Mr. Kim held a range of senior positions in the U.S., Canada and Australia at Schering-Plough, which was acquired by Merck & Co., Inc.

About FT218
FT218 is an investigational, once-nightly formulation of sodium oxybate that includes Avadel’s MicroPump™ controlled-release (CR) technology. In December 2020, the Company submitted a New Drug Application (NDA) to the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) for FT218 to treat excessive daytime sleepiness and cataplexy in adults with narcolepsy. FT218 has been granted Orphan Drug Designation from the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) for the treatment of narcolepsy. The designation was granted on the plausible hypothesis that FT218 may be clinically superior to the twice-nightly formulation of sodium oxybate already approved by the FDA for the same indication. In particular, FT218 may be safer due to ramifications associated with the dosing regimen of the previously approved product.

About Avadel Pharmaceuticals plc:
Avadel Pharmaceuticals plc (Nasdaq: AVDL) is a biopharmaceutical company primarily focused on the development and FDA approval of FT218, an investigational, once-nightly formulation of sodium oxybate designed to treat excessive daytime sleepiness and cataplexy in adults with narcolepsy. He's a pathetic little human being who karma is finally getting around to addressing.

The little, unprincipled pharma boy has 25 years of doing things he actually should be ashamed. And now, he's with a tiny UK entity with ~500M market cap with a bunch of stock granted in his little pot o gold.

So, Mr. KIM likely has 3-4 times his salary in stock ownership there at narcolepsy focused Avadel. Good luck O the Irish in doing good all the time, even in stressful times, little person. Cause your ethics and morals are just that, undetectable.

Maybe you'll treat the "Irish" better than Americans.

“I was drawn to Avadel because my power grab tactics didn’t work after my corporate benefactor/former CEO was forced out and I realized the jig was up. I learned nothing from my years in this business other than how to be a little (emphasis on little) egotistical tyrant and have no real skills, leadership or otherwise, to speak of. Avadel offers me the opportunity to continue to be a total punk ass bitch, as I will continue to be the same...forever.”

Now who’s going to cheat/win the Ugly Christmas Sweater contest every year at Intercept?

not sorry

It is SO refreshing and re-invigorating to hear people speak of how people really are. Richard Kim could have, or did he slip, speak each of these sincere, heartfelt, self-less words on joining the land of the Irish, Avadel.

Yes, he may have "his kind of last laugh" in terms of net worth. But that's it. And, you can be a billionaire and be a all of what is quoted above in earnest. I know Richard Kim. And he is a tiny business "person" in every way that integrity matters under pressure.

Well, well, Richard just keeps on landing like a champ. Funny, he knows what he is, believe me. I looked into his vacant, viviparous lizard eyes. I just heard, someone say to someone that someone wants to make things right with said lizard before the sun sets over the Cliffs of Moher. I know just the spot there to see if Richard can in fact, fly.

That is of course, "fly" as in successfully launch that blockbuster, FT218, an investigational, once-nightly formulation of sodium oxybate being developed by Avadel P. He's absolutely, best choice ever, on the face of earth to do so.

I can assure you, he thinks so. And if anyone smarter than him disagrees, they’ll find themselves look for a new job. History will repeat itself over and over.
