Restructuring

So word on the street is no longer need bachelors degree to be a rep. Out with the overpaid long term reps, in with young paid less reps. Hence the restructuring about to go down.

no alcohol at programs? What programs
12 lunches per year? What a genius plan
Hiring freeze = layoffs hitting again

I figure it will be sooner rather than later. Merck paying Reps 6 figures to talk remotely. Oncology only seeing HCP’s in satellite offices. Chronic Care trying to launch a new medication in the middle of a pandemic. I would say vaccines are the place to be, they can take orders over the phone.

Correct, I have confirmed this with former Merck staff who moved elsewhere. Check out the recent Amgen jobs, they are hiring reps with HS diplomas. No need to pay big bucks to provide lunch, drive around, and point at approved messages. Merck is going to do this but needs to legally push out the overpaid reps first.

Too funny, so many will do anything to hang on at Merck. Even displaced managers and above have taken lowly rep jobs. When cuts occur, all scramble for the crumbs that remain, a once diabetes rep is now an overnight women's health or oncology expert. Cuts are coming to the overpaid and sales managers. Directors, get ready to earn your pay by field rides, coaching and expense approval.

Merckies are so incestuous, many will have their HS grad kids apply for rep jobs. Now that's pathetic, bringing your kid to this shat hole.

This is coming.......

Merck has to reduce operating costs as pricing pressure increases. Rob has been talking about this for several years and now he’s in charge. This shouldn’t be a surprise to anyone.

the entire sales force has been at home for over a year and sales have barely slipped. All these new tech pilots are just to prove that live reps are not needed and we can hire much cheaper labor (i.e. No college degree).. The truth has been revealed and the cuts are coming, get out while u can

Poorly constructed thought. Sales have not slipped? Exactly. They might have grown with better direct sales support. The salesforce is not in place to deliver the trend. Not needed? if there were no value the salesforce would have been completely eliminated long ago. The organization will do what it needs to in this regard and years of regular "difficult decisions" have shown this. This truth has not only been "revealed", it's been obvious for years as well. Get out while you can? You could always and still can get out whenever you want. All the people I know that have are still eating so calm down.

This poster is obviously a dillusional member of the sales force. Keep telling yourself that u r needed, the real "difficult decisions" are about to be made.

Bro,
Thanks for being concerned. I know a few that were let go any they landed on thier feet. Some got better jobs with more money. You like to mock and spread fear. Not working. Check on your other half. I bet someone is giving her something that you cant. It might be that pathetic rep you are writing about. Lol

So satisfying to see the “great” oncology sales force getting their just desserts! All The primary care managers and reps that became oncology managers and reps with NO oncology experience now scrambling to apply for positions they looked down their noses on is just too hilarious! It’s so fun to sit back and watch! Best of luck to all of you! Especially you in Indiana and Michigan! Hope all your oncology “experience” helps you!
