Respiratory or Neurology

I see jobs posted for respiratory sales reps and neurology sales reps. Just wondering what peoples thoughts are on the two specialties? Is one better than the other? If given the opportunity which would you want to work in and why?

Respiratory seems to be more in demand probably because it is treated by Primary Care as well as Specialist. My experience with Neurology has been that the territory’s are much larger and more difficult to access.

I’ve noticed that as well. The access could be in issue depending on what the company sets their quota at. Although those things always change and are out of our control. I’m more concerned on which specialty is better for a representatives career and possibly which specialty might have more security in the future. Also would you say one specialty being respiratory or neurology have better targets? I’ve done cardiology in those doctors didn’t seem very open and friendly as when I did dermatology or urology. Interested in what the targets for the special these are like?

if any of those job postings have ANYTHING to do with GSK respiratory then I suggest you run away from it like you were running from a bear with a sack of salmon strapped to your back.
