Resignation from Labcorp

How does Labcorp handle resignation for field sales? Will they have you work your 2-week notice? If not, do they still pay during the 2 week notice, or send you packing without pay?

They pay you for your two weeks...it's the law. They will ask for your car and computer. This place sucks shit. Congrats.

They have to pay you two weeks but you will be done that day. They will your vacation days as well. Consider it a paid vacation or double dipping if u start at another company right away. just leave your computer and the keys in the car on the street in front of your house and tell them to pick it up. Congrats!

Thanks for the feedback. Even if you go into a different industry? Still get don't work your two week notice?

They will have you serve your two weeks notice at home. You are officially still employed. I would not risk going to work at another company during your two weeks notice at home. If they find out you could violate a company policy and you may then give up commission or bonus owed to you. Read your comp plan you signed before resigning to understand what commission or bonus is owed to you after you resign. Also, if they pull the car from you it's important to make sure payroll doesn't take auto out of your paycheck. Your computer access will probably be disable right away. If you have a company phone that goes back on the spot. Make sure to delete all voicemails or messages that could put fellow employees in a bad position before you hand it over. You should be prepared for this before giving notice also. Turn in all expense reports and outstanding client issues and adjustments so you at least know you did the right thing. Let the clients know that had anything outstanding where you are at and how long it should take to hear back and who at the lab you are waiting to get an answer from, without telling them you are resigning. Know this, once you resign you will be the reason nothing got done in your territory when clients start complaining. It's an LCA company policy, do nothing to support field reps., when they resign not replace them with anyone else in their territory for months, and when clients start quitting and complaining blame it all on the rep. who left and everyone ignored all along.

Depends on the circumstance and your manager. If you are in good standing and want to help another rep transfer clients, then maybe but typically the day you give your notice, that is it.

Funny how they disable the phone right away and have these protocols for an employee leaving buy yet they have no protocols in place to assist the client during the departure and transition..... Priorities? That conpletely baffles me. What does blaming a rep no longer employed actually prove or even make sense to a client leaving? The fact labcorp spreads itself so thin and doesnt utilize technology correctly/efficiently so the client is

So the client has a seemless transition and their needs are met. It's called managers don't know what they heck goes on with their employees and accounts. This place is a circus

I have not worked here for nearly 3 years but I'm still getting paid. I keep forgetting to give my notice. Then again, even if I tried to reach my manager, he wouldn't return my call. Wonder if he still works here? It's Friday so I know he is not working today.

It's the law? What law? I googled, and have read that if you resign in an employment at-will state, you can leave your job, or the company can let you go, without cause at any time. So, this leads me to believe Labcorp doesn't necessarily have to honor a two week notice. However, it sounds like this is not generally Labcorp's practice, and that they will pay during notice, even if they ask you to leave upon resignation.

A letter of resignation where you indicate a date two weeks out is a safe bet that you will be paid through that date. While not a matter of law, if they termed you earlier it is an involuntary termination. That invites risk. So if you give proper notice and keep to the high road, it is likely they will too.

They will pay your two weeks, not because of law, but because they can uphold their noncompete if they allow you to stay. If they terminate you, the noncompete is garbage. It's their way of keeping you legally bound to your contract with them. They can come after you for going to a competitor, otherwise.

Considering the majority of judges are liberal democrats, judges dont care for bug business. any judge worth his weight will always side with the employee because they have to feed their family and support themselves. Unless labcorp pays you a year severance to not work for a conpetitor, that non compete is a scare tactic and basically garbage. Could they fight on it and will they, sure, but they rarely win but it i can cost you to do so and they know that. Again, it is a scare tactic just like the rest of their management style and culture

Also, the above post does not apply to high level executives. They would fight and win those because of competitive info etc. this does not apply to a sales rep. Contact a lawyer, they will tell you the same things

Noncompete agreements are not enforceable against employees in California. Since a California statute invalidates noncompete agreements except in very limited circumstances, California judges won't enforce a noncompete agreement against an employee.
