Is anyone actually doing remote details? Does anyone think it is a good idea? Most reps I talk to have yet to do one. They think it is the dumbest idea! Any thoughts?

I think it is a great idea and I would like to thank the management team for all of their hard work and patience with this crappy sales force. Your insight on teleconferences is enlightening and I go away more motivated to sell.

It's not called remote detailing...it's remote selling, because after all, it is all about thinking like a customer. Remote selling in front of my manager is a great idea by management because now they know that I can actually use a phone!

Thanks again management, you're the best!!

Please don't forget to thank the wonderful consultants who derived this fantastic idea based on all the customer service/sales experience they acquired during grad school!! It is amazing the amount of knowledge that can flow between two educated people over the phone.....it's hard to hang up as we exchange one phenomenal idea after another! Why didn't we think of this earlier??

In my district we have been remote detailing for years.

On a sunny Friday we sit out by the porch with our computers and backfill any calls we think management would like to see for that week. This is done remotely because we never get close to the reported Docs!

When you get an iPad you won't be able to do what the above poster suggests because all of your actions will be closely monitored. Furthermore, you won't have an FLM (as currently defined) examining your activity but rather some type of director/acct mgr.

What the F#@K is this crap. Is it a new way to detailing my BMW at my home instead of me bringing it to a cae wash?

I guess that coporate feels this is a great idea sold to them again by an consultant group much like the old listen to a canned presentation and memorize it so you can talk back to your computer crap 5 yrs ago.

Its nice too see corporate waste $$$$ on this junk instead of keeping employees off the unemployment line!

Got to love the "head up the ass" approach in NJ.

Oh by the way I'm detailing remotly from the baech in So. Cal watching the beautiful blondes rollerblade by!

Just leave your iPads at the nurses station, go get your hair and nails done and come back up and get your iPad a couple hours later. There are soooooooo many ways to get around this. You realize you can just turn it off or does the gps still work when powered down?

Remote detailing..where have you been...? Been doing it for years.

Yep..sitting in waiting room, waived at doc thru window- Check!
Pulled into office park lot ,saw doc's car - Check!
