Nah, we were kids back then with all those crazy hopes and dreams in front of us. What happens as we age is it is easy to see that many of our aspirations and dreams did not and do not work out as planned. We get old. We get tired of fighting the good fight.
I believe the key is to stay a kid. Why grow up? Why get overly materialistic or worried. We weigh, "Did I make a difference?" or "Will anyone miss me?". I think we might be surprised what things we did in life truly made a difference. I say enjoy yourself and the simple things. Most things you/me cannot control anyway. What is just IS and there isn't a damn thing you can do about it. I say be flexible, dream, have a bucket list and do it, smell the roses, enjoy the ride not the station because nothing lasts forever; not love, not good health, not even our wonderful pets. Dreams crumble but you can always build new ones and keep them close to your heart and doable. Be good to yourself because no one else will and try to hang on to that sense of wonder where anything is still possible!
