Relocating for a promotion

If it is more than 60 miles or a realistic distance to cover the territory you are able to get the full relocation. It has to be a promotion, I just went from territory to specialty. Three days to find new housing, 90 days housing in new location if you have to sell your property to move. Closing costs, moving costs ( they come and pack, wrap, ship, etc), rental car, etc. An outsourced (duh, of course) handles it all (and rips forest off like intramed etc). You have to keep all records and the costs are taxable income.

Thanks for your detailed feedback.

I would be very careful taking a promotion right now. I think there is a very good chance that there is a big downsizing own its way.. I would hate to be the person with the least amount of experience in a new job when that comes.

taxable income? you dope. if you are relocated by your employer, moving expenses are deductible. you are so full of shit it is pathetic. No one @ forest relocates for a specialty position, that is a crock of shit, forest does not have promotions either. if you think forest specialty is a promotion, you are fucked to begin with let alone the confusion you emote about taxes.

I'm not the original poster but you are so stupid I feel compelled to say something. Moving expenses provided by your employer are indeed considered income. Once an agreement is reached on the amount inclusive of broker fees, moving, etc. the company will "gross-up" the amount in your payment based on your tax bracket. You will need to provide a record of receipts to the company for any negotiated services that are not coordinated by them. I guess you suck so bad no company has ever considered relocating you so how would you know......

I have lots of skills and my husband is a dentist. He works very hard. Sometimes 6 days a week. Usually only 5 but if Saturday emergencies, he will work

My favorite color is blue, my dog's name is Zack, and my favorite past time is water sports....what kind of happy horseshit are you spewing? It has nothing to do with the topic of discussion. By the way one of my bicuspid's has been hurting, do you think your husband can go 7 this week and see me on a Sunday?

Funny, ha ha. My husband doesn't work on Sunday's. We go to breakfast then church with our 2 boys. Dentists need a break. It's hard being on your feet all day, and the mental fatigue is terrible.

As the other poster was compelled to say, you're an idiot. I relocated a few hours away for specialty spot and got exactly what was mentioned. Regardless of your or anyone's opinion, it is considered a promotion. Like the other poster said, the question was about the relocation package. Zip it.

I was a rep in Memphis and was promoted years ago to RST and the company paid a moving company to come in, pack my entire house, and move my crap to Kansas City. I saw the bill at the end........$18,000! As far as the house and stuff, I don't remember the deal because I didn't own when I accepted the RST job.
