Not true. Regenerative sales team are direct sales specialists for the Zimmer Dental division, selling stuff for gum tissue and bone regen in tooth sockets. Dental division does pretty well in their market - probably because they are so distant from the main crew of warsaw mgmt and are allowed to do their own thing for the most part.

Actually, the regenerative sales team lies in ortho not dental. They have a specialized direct sales force that works with and partners with the recon distribution team. They carry Gel-One, Chondro Fix, and Denovo NT. This division is expected to have heavy investment and grow with the addition of more sports medicine products via development and or acquisition. This is an up-and-comer.

I haven't seen those guys/gals in my area. I will say this...Gel One is a very good product. I might do $200,000 in my territory this year...even with the reimbursement issues. Synvisc has got to be concerned. Basically their one shot stuff sucks

The group you are referring to is the biologics/sports team that Recon gobbled up although they have always worked to support the recon/trauma sales reps in their area. There's a handful of them in the country. They have the 3 catilage and visco products you mentioned. They are like our Knee PSDs but called something else - Regional Biologics Specialist? Biologics Sales Specialist? something like that.

Not arguing. Just clarifying. Seemed to me the OP was probably asking about a "Regenerative" position they may have heard someone talking about. It's more likely that "regen" was probably used to describe the dental business, not the regional sports specialists.

Funny you're so adamant on correcting me....i know some of these regenerative sales specialists personally and what they sell. And if you check Zimmer's website they are currently hiring for a few with the title "regenerative sales specialist" listed under Recon Sales.

I stand corrected then. My bad. Me thinks maybe we are gearing up to actually buy a sports med company then if they really are finally expanding that team. Could also be to support the Knee Creations product (there are also PSD positions posted for that). From what I hear the biologics guys are not going to have that product.
