Ray Patterson

Very much a micro manager. His way or the highway!

I worked for Ray after he was relocated from St L to ATL. One thing he is NOT is a micro mgr. He treated us like adults--which probably was from him coming from managing a specialty division and moving to P.C. The fact that so many PC reps need to be babysat...that led to his only problem--finding a way to motivate the "children" while assuming he was dealing with grown-ups. I would take him back anytime! The amusing part is that he was my 1st minority manager and he never wore it on his sleeve like so many would have done--if they had been in his shoes.

These area wise words.

‘Motivating the children”; that’s exactly correct. Or the chronologically older reps who are still children. Like most of the DBU, for example. Ray was good if you had a brain.
