I've only worked for inVentiv (for 5 years on one contract). Fairly good benefits, company car. Overall it was a good experience. Big thing I didn't like was their vacation policy. Hard to take two weeks at once because of their policy.

PDI is the worst. It is run very much like any typical big pharma company but without the pay and benefits of one. Paid vaca? Sure they have it but you'll have to bend over a thousand times just to use it. It's basically a crime in their book for a rep to take what is rightfully theirs. Company car? Yes, but should be used only for company business...Personal use not allowed. Totally unprofessional company. I'm surprised they're still around.

Worst? how would you know unless you've worked for all of them?
PDI just isn't getting the contracts like the others are and they are squeezing out what they can.
Also, Every contract is different and you can't contracts either because you don't work on all of them. Reps are all different and what bothers one doesnt bother another. You may not like one aspect but that doesn't mean they are the worst.
About the big Pharma point, Where have you been? Versus running it like what?
If the client wants the contract to be run like their company, it will be like big Pharma, usually micro-managing is a part of that.
Making a profit is the bottom line so they have to have results and PDI has to push their reps to succeed in the field, not just make __ calls and deliver __ samples. It's sales.
I don't even work at PDI but I understand profit and loss and contract deliverables.

Glad I don't work with you. You make yourself sound like a total tool.

This. Most people bad-mouthing their jobs, managers and company are really spoiled brats with a severe entitlement mentality. See if they are as high and mighty once what they have is taken away. Harharhar...

Agreed poster #9! Sure I'd like to make my old 85k base, but that ain't the world we live in today. These people had better wake up ... You have no choices or room to complain in a scale economy!

Only worked for Publicis and PDI. I liked Publicis better. PDI had to have high number of signatures a day and the DM was mediocre. PDI did offer a car.

I liked my DM's alot with Publicis, they were more concerned with moving the sales numbers than sample signatures. Wished Publicis offered a car but I came out ahead because I bought a cheap, used car and learned the cheapest places to buy gas in my territory. Still a pain, though.

I interviewed a couple of times with inVentiv but didn't want to cover the huge territory both times. With Publicis, I had to drive a couple hours some to reach targets. With inVentiv, I was supposed to cover the whole state where one city was 5 hours away. They wanted a fair amount of overnights. They did have a car. DMs seemed good, though.

#1 - Publicis
#2 - PDI
#3 - inVentiv ( unless you can get a reasonable territory)
