It's time for Lilly employees to start working together, and to disengage from fierce, but hidden competition. Really, these social and financial engineering experiments were just that: experiments. And there is no such thing as a failed experiment.

Twenty-five percent across the board salary cuts, and performance ratings based upon collaborative results.
 












Hey don't knock it. I've made a pretty good living promoting Six Sigma concepts as a consultant. It was an easy sell at Lilly where the leadership team lives in a fantasy land.
 












I've been exemplary for 5 years now. That's come in handy, as my wife thinks that I am really "above it all" in terms of our sex life. However, I keep milking it twice a day, once in the morning, once before bed, sometimes even during the nooner hour at work....
