This contract we have with bayer is the biggest clusterfuck I have ever seen in my life. Amazingly unrealistic placement goals, changes weekly in direction (or rather lack of direction), no budget to actually work your territories. Is everything at Bayer animal health this fucked up and ridiculous? Just what the hell do the area managers and P Ryan do? What a bunch of incompetent morons. No wonder all the vet offices hate bayer.
 












The good news is the Pet Specialty team has a huge budget to work with and is throwing the dollars at the Pet Stores and their distributors. The bad news is the reps on the Vet side are are being instantly devalued. Now we are not even worth anything to another animal health company we may decide to go work for because our credibility with the vets we have built relationships with over the years is completely shot. Thanks Peter, and Kirk you are a sellout......as long as Peter made things right with you you are happy to play the game. You can always go back to a company outside of the industry again. To all of the old timers here, you must be counting the days until you can just retire and flip them all the bird.

I am sure they are counting, good luck to them...it is the young reps that will suffer most. I don't think the rep has been devalued though and a good rep will find a home when things improve with the economy, it is just not a good time to look to move on. How many bad reps have worked for Merial, how much do many vets hate them too...a good rep will be ok if they choose wisely and move at the first opportunity. Bayer will soon be a ghost ship with no crew, and maybe that is what they want so they do not have to pay out any packages.
