Quick Question About Territory Devopmemt Rep Pay

I had a recruiter call me last week about a territory development rep position. He told me the total comp was 80k but the posts I've read on this board say the guarantee is 100k. Have they lowered the comp amount or are they low balling me? Thanks for any input!

It depends on your level of experience. $80k is more like the real number...it's a cake job so if you get the opportunity, take it!!!

If a candidate accepts a position like this, do they also have to agree to relocate when an open territory is available? Also, will they look at candidates with light medical sales experience looking to get surgical sales experience?

Each opportunity is on a case by case situation. More times than not, they'll expect you to move and fill the vacancy. If you're a top performer, then yes!

Depends on the division. Valleylab is 80k for the TDR/Associate rep role while Auto/Syn is 100k with about10k in bonus potential. Most of the time you will be able to stay in the territory you are in but you need to ask the recruiter because there are some territories where you will be expected to relocate or stay stuck in that position.

Also they say 12 months but I know of a few that have taken up to 18 months to be promoted. If the territory does not have the dollar volume to split they won't. Great opp to get in and yes they do look at light medical.

Thank you all for the above replies! It looks like I am in for a long interview process for the TDR position if I am able to make it to the offer stage (about 8 weeks from PI to offer). It sounds like the position will be worth it though. Thanks again for the insight!
