Question

Why isn't the Gelpoint a standard for most laparoscopic surgical procedures?
You’re trolling with this question right? It’s $500. Difficult to use. Any doesn’t really offer much benefit outside of one big scar instead of 3 very small ones. If you call that a benefit. Get back to selling Voyant like me. Don’t worry about gel!

So what are other reps doing on a weekly basis? My manager hasn’t asked much from us but sounds like other teams are required to read a book, make mandatory calls with
Managers on the phone. 3 web calls to surgeons a week.

seems over Kill and not conscience to the situation but most of Management at Applied don’t get it.

just curious?

Yeah, management is out of touch with reality and seem to think the dr’s that use our trocars are doing essential surgeries. Outside of lap chole’s & appy’s and a few others, Applied’s mgmt never got the memo from Trump that all elective cases have been canceled. Said is just a defiant a-hole who hates Trump and thinks his company doesn’t need to abide by his national directive. Hey Said.......since we all know you read this board, why don’t you stop being a selfish prick and donate some PPE to the hospitals in the area or in NY that really need help you selfish greedy prick? There’s a NOVEL idea!

So we seriously begging surgeons to use gel? That’s the way back into OR? VNotes which can’t sell it and TAMIS are rare cases.

but let’s harass our surgeons now while they are probably in worse positions than us.

does someone disagree?

I’m sorry young buck that you’re having to deal w/ this moronic company & presumably an even more moronic manager. I’m bored at home and thought I’d share my 2 cents because I used to work at your company many years ago. If you’re not aware of the history of Applied, here it is in a nutshell: The CEO cried and whined to Congress about 20 years ago that nobody liked him or his company. Once Congress ruled JnJ & Covidien could no longer bundle certain product categories, that opened the doors for them for 5-7 years. They haven’t really invented or redesigned much since. The gel is the same old gel. The Alexis is the same old Alexis. The trocars are definitely the same and we all know how Voyant has been going for you. The truth is Applied is cheap as all hell and doesn’t want to pay any real engineers (i.e. good engineers) to design real or better products and senior mgmt (who, in case you haven’t noticed hasn’t changed in almost 25 years) would rather makeup some stupid new way to sell. Remember last year the dumb signed forms initiative? Now it’s this dumb crap with the TAMIS Gel which has a VERY particular indication for colo-rectal procedures. The sad truth is no one at Applied gets it and it’s the same reason everyone under the same 6-7 ass clowns at the top are the only constant while the turnover of everyone underneath them is possibly the worst in the medical device industry. If you don’t believe me, ask ANY recruiter.

Y’all be golfing all week. I haven’t had to do anything.

sooo shocked this board been quiet. You do realize this will end with a massive cut. Why would we need reps if we can do everything “virtually”

We’re doing role plays 3 times a week on zoom. I could practically sell voyant to a Eskimo that has ice or a woman eating a ketchup popsicle wearing white gloves. When hospitals let me back in MDT is gonna go bankrupt!
