I have never worked on a contract before. When the contract ends can you get unemployment?
It was a legitimate question that was immediately answered. Your snide remarks are unnecessary and far more annoying.
As you get down sized, it is wise to get some letters of recommendation/reference from your manager, trainer and some top physicians.
I just went to an interview and they required three letters of recommendation from your former managers.
I love how these self-appointed instructors are here to tell all of us what is a 'dumb' post or what is a good question.
As a manager who has worked here for over 7 years, the question was appropriate and relevant. Every single person in this industry is on a 'contract', whether they realize it or not. There is no sense of loyalty to reps that work in 'permanent' positions anymore. Contract sales will become a bigger and bigger part of the business - just ask your friends at Lilly, GSK, Novartis, BMS or Merck.
The best advice for all is that you live below your means whenever possible, and be prepared for the inevitable gaps in employment. Welcome to the 21st century workplace.
I agree with some of this, but I woukd still prefer a company job. Traditionally better pay, better benefits, and at least a shot at a pension. Better chance of upward mobility as well.

I agree with some of your post but contract companies are now matching salaries of the company your being contracted with and benefits for the most part are the same. Only negative about contract is being promoted which you will get more with a permanant company. I recently interviewed with both Ventiv and a large Pharma company and I was shocked when the offer from Ventiv was more than the other company
bullshit
