question on background check at covidien

To my knowledge most companies will not call your current employer if you are still working their to verify dates of employment (unless you give them permission).

It sounds like Covidien has an extensive background check, will HR call your current employer to find out when you worked there?
 






To the best of my knowledge, after you are hired on, Covidien will check your employment dates. They should match your resume and online application so you should have nothing to worry about.......
 






I have been offered a job at Covidien. I do have a misdemeanor for theft on my record from 2006. do you know if I will pass the background check w/ this offense? I do plan on putting it on the application.

In all honesty, probably not. Covidien is a very straight line, by the book company and there are too many people that need a job that don't have a criminal record. The background check takes over 2 weeks because they are so thorough and very exhaustive in researching prospective employees. Hopefully for your sake I'm wrong but I would probably keep looking around.

You better have a damn good reason why you stole. Like it was a loaf of bread for your starving mother, otherwise most top tier companies are going to pass on you.
