question about resigning

If "someone" resigns two weeks prior to the end of the quarter (i.e. Sept 16) but gives two weeks notice, will this "someone" (lol) get paid their IC for the quarter? Or do I have to wait until the 30th?

Based on what I read I believe I have to wait until the 30th.....

Wait until the 30th. They do not need 2 weeks. They will come and get your car/samples/computer the day after you give notice. You need to wait until the end of the quarter to get full bouns. Good luck and congrats :)

If you give 2 weeks notice the last day of employment is 2 weeks from the day you gave. You need to give 2 weeks notice in a letter with the date of the letter and the last day you will be employed which would be in 2 weeks. That will make you eligible for your IC payout. Good luck and I would still give the 2 weeks notice - even though you might get cleaned out earlier because you don't want to burn any bridges.

Thank y'all for the replies! I appreciate it!

Let me bore y'all for a second.....On the IC Eligibility Rules it says "For all terminations, whether voluntary or involuntary, if the effective termination date is before the Last Working Day of the quarter, the Employee will not earn any IC bonus payment for the payout quarter in which the termination occurs, or for any succeeding payout quarter(s)" Then it goes on to say "Note: Last Day Worked and Last Working Day should not be confused with last day paid. Last Day Worked is considered the last full day on which the Sales Employee was actively working in the territory (and prior to commencing termination checkout)"

That last bit gets me..."and prior to commencing termination checkout". This makes me think they consider the last day worked as the day you are actually in the field and the day you are "checked out" of your car/samples, etc then you are not longer "actively working". So if I turn in my notice on the 16th and they check me out a few days later, my last "active working day" would not be the 30th so I would not get paid.

New job training class is right around the corner which is why I'm thinking I won't be able to wait until 30th :(

Do you leave before the 30th? If not do not quit until the 30th. It won't burn any bridge- do you actually think DSI cares? They will be happy not to fill your spot. Quit posting on here since your DM will probably read it. Take vacation for your training if you leave before- and just quit on the 30th. If the bonus is not that much money- then quit before- not hard to decide.

To the OP I would not give a two weeks notice until you have your commission deposited into your bank account. Since you have training starting soon, I would use vacation and sicks days until the 30th. Worst case scenairo Detail only who cares your leaving!

Unless you really want to come back to DSI and sell Benicar vs. Cozaar, Diovan, and Avapro when there generic. I have seen 4 people give there 2 weeks and the very next day, BAM there gone(samples, car, computer, promo materials) They went it all back immediately.
I think it's the protocol. Please confirm this if your a DM and prowl this website.

What company is hiring? Just curious to see whats out there.

Why doesn't Daiichi Sankyo realize that this same scenario happens again and again in their company so they have reps in the field not doing much if anything just to try and make that cut off date....why not just prorate the bonus/commissions? Surely the amount they would save with not paying the salary, gas, etc would offset some of the costs of paying the prorated bonuses. then when reps have mentally (and sometimes physically also) checked out of the company they ideally would leave too..... maybe if hr is browsing this site they can answer that. (i won't hold my breath)

make sure to order printer cartiages, paper and tape, fill the family car with gas, prepay a few lunches, download all your personal papers and whatever else you can get...Make sure your samples are correct...the DM will be at your house within hours of resigning to take away your items ....

Do this. Pre-pay some lunches and ask for a gift card instead of food. Order and purchase last minute supplies (pens, paper, ink etc). DOWNLOAD AND BACKUP EVERYTHING! YOU MAY NOT WANT OR THINK YOU NEED IT, DO IT THOUGH. CALL TECH SUPPORT AND ASK THEM HOW TO BACKUP ALL YOUR EMAIL TO YOUR HARD DRIVE. YOU WILL WANT TO SAVE THIS TOO!!! TRUST ME....

Also, work until the 30th. DSI doesn't give a shit if you double dip for 2 weeks. This will make sure you get IC too. Also, wait until the 1st, because then your health benefits will be covered until the end of the month. If you quit the 30th, your benefits might too.

Lastly, regardless of what region you are in, send OPIE and JM an email telling them they are gutless and spineless.
