Question about Merck pension plan

Do they have a defined benefit plan (DB) ?
I was told by a lawyer that the Schering reps who came over and were kept
would be eligible to be tenured in to Mercks pension plan which is far better than scherings was. Does anyone have any insight ?

They have Merck on Merck's plan, SGP people on SGP's plan and Organon people are still on Organon's plan. Don't know how they are getting away with this legally. It has been almost 2 years and for Organon folks it has been well over 3 years.
