Pharma hasn't been about selling for a long time. Marketing now rules the industry and PSSs are nothing more than delivery people exposing anyone sight with canned ads.

Pharma reps, grown adults with college education, great training, life saving products...who wouldn't want to talk to you!? Great feel good career!

Reality..I've stood in converted bathrooms (I mean sample closets) for too long I'm embarrassed to admit just so the PA can sign. get paid to wait in all kinds of places, waiting rooms, break room, little corner nooks, end of the hall by emergency exits, parking lots..get to wear office provided things like the REP badge, special clipboard, hold the colored paper (blue for IM, green for FP signing only), Hall Pass from receptionist! stand next to tray of sandwiches for 2 hours in the 'extra' exam /rep room and hope that a 'target' will stop in (still thats a 6 call lunch in my book)...Had 17 yr old high school kid working after school in office ask "what do you guys really do?" - after seeing 6 of us run in/out in past 2 hrs... Drive 75 miles at the end of the quarter to get that one signature from a low decile doc to hit reach/freq. game..

Still I'm home by 4 pm latest..make ok money...no stress/strain..turn in my stuff on time, DMs not a complete a-hole...stay sober during the meetings..overall I'm meeting expectations.

Sounds like you need to pick up the pace with the ALL DAY LIE tradition! Home at 4 pm, are you crazy? Who the hell stays out to 4 pm??? Today, I am out by 11am, go to a big practice and get a couple of sigs, then to a lunch, and home by 2pm, at the latest. I will fake about 4 calls today. Living the AZ dream man!!!!!!!!!!
