No, PTO stands for personal time off, it does not mean "sick" days, dumbass. Sick days are what other Pharma gives their reps when they need to stay home due to them being sick or their kids being sick. PTO is used for vacation, numbnuts. It brings employees down and shows that management doesn't care about them when they have to burn vacation time for sick kids. If you don't understand that , well then, I guess your nose must be up somebody's ass so far you lost touch. 18 days is NOT enough to contend with sick kids and then be well rested for work from vacations. How can PTO provide you an "incentive to not get sick" form the flu in february since our main job is to go into sick doctors offices? I fucking swear the quality of education in this county produces idiots.
Benes like healthcare is standard of industry with a 90/10 healthcare plan. The Pharma benefits blows with their Medco mail order scheme. But I don't have a problem with this. I plan to enjoy it while it lasts because when Obamacare taxes on business that offer 90/10 "platinum" plans ends this and we all go to a 80/20 "gold" plan.
Accrual isn't smart for a business at all. It stresses employees out! Period. Let me guess, you got an MBA from University of Fenix and in your ... ehem ... MBA classes they taught you how an employer that shits over its employees is what makes us feel "empowered" right? Do you even think about what you write before you write it? You get 18 days fuckwad that you have to roll in a family vacation, take off time for Xmas because no child care since school is closed, tend to sick kids at home with the flu in February, take spring break off because there's no child care during that week the schools close, hope no summer colds, etc, etc, and then save 5 days to roll over??????? Are you serious? Is that what makes a company smart???? BI makes Billions a year. Not Millions, BILLIONS a year and the reduction of PTO is what's going to keep them afloat? What weed are you schmoking? Accrual basis of PTO makes sense to them when they want to do a headcount reduction. Well, don't fucking do a headcount reduction. Smartly hire in the first place, but no. The first thing BI does is always hire in people. They laid off 30% in 09 and decided to douche us over with CSO which was a miserable failure. SO their answer was to roll them into us, only to do another layoff in 12 because they were bloated again. Now because they are getting product extensions for Spiriva and Pradaxa and in hopes of launching another diabetes drug they are going to ramp up again and hire new reps? What the fuck is wrong with this company? We are tripping over each other as it is and they are going to bloat up sales again, which will inevitably lead to another layoff. Also, we are about to lose a shit-load of money on Pradaxa lawsuits in at least paying for patient doctors bills. Hell, we paid through the nose in illegally promoting drugs as evidenced through CIA. SO, no, an accrual basis of PTO isn't smart for a business it's only used to cover their ass when they blunder and then reduce headcount to cover their mistakes. Got it? Or do I need to go on more, dumbass.
