A few prostate cancer patients visited our Atlanta facility. It keeps me motivated and focused to read this stuff. Happy Easter All:

During the last four months I must admit I got to feeling like I was somebody special. Being treated like a rock star will do that to you. It has been fun and I hope it continues for a while. I love to share my story. I love to encourage and give hope. I have learned so much and have met so many amazing people. The last two trips I took to the manufacturing facilities wers absolutely eye opening. There are so many facets involved in the manufacturing of this vaccine. It boggles the mind. Cells are tracked and tested and retested and quality controlled from the time they are extracted up until the time they are infused. The facilities are impeccable. I would not be afraid to eat off the floor. If I could give one example of the attention to detail it would be this. The backup power system consists of four twelve cylinder diesel engines that power 480 volt 3 phase generators. The maximum window in the event of a power outage to have the backup system up and running is 30 minutes. Average time it takes in reality ( 7 seconds) Fyi one generator could power the entire facility. They have four of them. Nothing is given to chance or taken for granted. I would eat off of the diesel engines. They were spotless. I could go on and on abouut the wonders of the facilities but the most impressive faction of Dendreon is the faculty. I met person after person without exception who believe in what they are doing. From the men and women working in the labs to those who disinfect the floors and walls. Each person there puts the patient first and believes theey are making a difference in the battle we brothers face each day. Did I mention that a year later I feel fantastic. I am not a rockstar. I am not a super hero. The men and women of Dendreon are all the above. I urge myy brothers here at this forum. If you find yourselves in the class of Asymptomatic or mildly symptomatic, Metastatic, Hormone refractory, PCa, fight for Provenge first. I believe it is going to make a huge difference in the battle. I am not a Dendreon Employee. I do not own Dendreon stock. I have nothing to gain by saying this. I just believe in stating the truth when I see it. I got mine and I feel terrific. I want my brothers to get theirs as well. Todd

Todd, so happy to hear what a positive visit you had at Dendreon. I know see Provenge advertised on the TV. Though I know next to nothing about it (except what I've learned from you), it sounds like something very, very promising...not just for prostate cancer but for other cancers as well. Here's to success for you and everyone on Provenge.
PS: You sound terrific...hugs and kisses from The Empire State.

Thank you Sephie. I really am doing wonderful. Sometimes it.makes me feel very sad as others are not. My heart aches for all my brothers who are fighting for their lives.. I am sure my time for that fiight will come but for now I am content to simply live mine. I was able tto meet waater guy and jnf.....Aka Terry and Jack in Atlanta and I now have two new friends for life. That was actually the best part of the Atlanta trip. I still feel like not enouugh emphasis is being given to use Provenge A.S.A.P.. after bbecoming refractory. Too many say it is too expensive. bah!!! such a bunch of crap. Add up the cost of Taxatere or zytiga or mdv over a couple years. just saying. Todd
