Prolift lawsuits

Just wondering what sort of exposure we have as reps with the mesh lawsuits going on? I am newer to Gynecare (2 years) but had no idea that J&J had reps selling Prolift without it being FDA approved. Are we in trouble personally? Is Gynecare/EWHU going to survive this? Are we going to stay in the prolapse market? I hear so many rumors - I don't know what to believe?

What sort of guidance are you getting from your manager?

No need to worry as long as you stayed on IFU and you never scrubbed in for a case or ever touched a patient.

the whole FDA approval is a little sketchy at best...here's my take on it---JNJ had fda approval on Gynemesh, and since Prolift is nothing more than Gynemesh repurposed then what's the problem. The FDA says the addition of trochars, canulas, and retrevial loops changes the product....Well does it? After all what is truly left behind but gynemesh.

You are no way in trouble for this, unless you made homemade detail pieces or promised Dr's you could use Prolift for chin lifts.

Is Gynecare going to survive this? NOT A CHANCE!!! If you ask anybody inside what new products are coming and what platform did we invest all of our R&D dollars into- it was pelvic floor. Now the FDA is requiring a minimum of 5 yrs of data prior to ever approving any POP kits and trust me they will be very critical of the next thing that is put up for approval. So look at what is left, Thermachoice and Interceed. Why do you think that's all you're hearing about. Two 15 year old products that are cash cows. JNJ wants you to promote the hell out of these products to drive maximum profitability. Just like what the credo says; " screw our customers, screw our patients, and drive bottom line revenue for the stock holders" I'm pretty sure that is in the first paragraph. Wait maybe that was during my last field ride with my DM. I'm getting so confused anymore trying to keep my Tee times and working 4 hours per day.

Guidance from my manager---"you guys need to look out for yourself and your family, if you need to interview outside of JNJ (wink wink) I completely understand.

The last post is 100% dead on. I could not agree more. All they care about is profitability. The Credo is a joke. If they stand behind the Credo, than they will allow customers to get credit for all the Prosima and Prolift+M kits. But you know that won't be the case. They will tell the customers to use up what is on their shelf. That is just wrong.

Also, say goodbye to all the Gynecare managers in the next 3-4 weeks. Nice knowing you! See ya! I am out on the golf course as well! NO ONE cares about Thermachoice or Interceed. That is yesterday's news. I mean it was the news 15+ and 22+ years ago!!
