Profit Sharing

usually comes later in the year.....and yes, I would bet we get it. They have never missed a year, and I have gotten a lot of money via P/S over my time with Forest. Not trying to defend this place, but it is a pretty good benefit

There is no doubt that Forest has some great benny's. The health insurance and Rx plan is top notch. The match is OK for 401k, and the P/S is a nice add-on and usually you get 3 - 5 K based on your salary. But obviously the vacation to start sucks. There is no denying that Forest has goo Benefits. It is the people that fuck this place up for the rest of us especially the actions of and culture creation done by the DM’s. I thought for a while that it was just my area that had a bunch of simple minded DM's who have no experience and bring even less value. But then I head other reps from my training class saying that this was happening to them in their area as well and I said ok maybe it is the culture and it is coming down from the top. While I think this may be some of the reason the real reason is that in all cases it is the DM that has caused the culture. That DM across the board has either been inexperienced or has people skill issues. Being a manager of people is an art, especially when those people are sales people. You need to be able to balance the sensitive relationship with the reps and the need for business results. Too much focus on one or the other shifts the balance and causes issues. So when you have inexperienced managers (and to a further extent the RD's who let this happen) the result is too much focus on business results and that focus is usually done through negative motivation. And it is this lack of knowing how to properly motivate a sales team that causes all these issues. So much so that when there is a manager that does this well they are thought of as being weak and never really go any further. Forest rewards the wrong employees for the wrong reasons. But that is why you have the highest turnover rate in the industry. You want one way to help thwart the loss of a $2.4 Billion product, try first is to increase employee satisfaction and start to build employee loyalty. This will not only help with reducing the cost that goes into training the replacements of those who have voluntarily left but a properly motivated and satisfied sales team will want to sell for you and be excited to sell for a company that they love. This will bring in more revenue over time via the new products. But then again I think monkeys have as good a chance to fly out of my ass then for this to happen

Not sure why I went on this rant but there you go!

Any word on if we are getting profit sharing this year and if so when will it be deposited?

last year it was deposited on Sept 24th 2010

even if you resign in september 2011 and keep your 401k open you should still receive profit sharing bc it is based on the prior fiscal year, running from april 1, 2010 to march 31, 2011, so if you were employed for that time period you will still get it
