Product Recalls just the tip of Iceberg

All these recalls are just the surface of a much larger problem with the culture at Hospira. Employees have a lack of respect for management which translates to no concern for quality. We know their looking to send jobs overseas for cheaper labor. Why put forth the effort? We're making beans while the top brass is pulling in millions. They cover for one another when they do unethical deeds and squash us at any suspicion of it. What hypocrisy!

Hospira (or the swamp as Mike Ball likes to refer to it) is infested with alligators.

The Rocky Mount hirings are just rehires from those that were laid off from Project Lean/Fuel a few years ago. That savings (which turned out to cost the company big time) was used to pad the pockets of Begley and his minions.

Seniority personel was laid off and now newbies are hired in their place.

i agree on all accounts...it is amazing how companies (and governments) cook the books and more amazing that we as a people let them get away with it.

I remember when China hosted the Olympics in 2008. They shutdown all the factories trying to clean up all the air pollution.

Reminds me of what Hospira does when they anticipate an FDA or VIP visit. Shut down manufacturing, clean floors, equipment, paint walls, replace rusted furniture in clean areas, etc, etc.

wonder how the fda visit did in austin...saw where the visit didn't go so well in costa rico

FDA did a great job on the Costa Rica inspection. It is very specific in its warning letter :

However, not all of the complaints are CR's fault, IMHO.

Some of the pumps have alarm buzzers that do not work . Hospira blamed it on the vendor. Eventually, they will find out whether this is really true or not because even after corrective action was taken by the vendor, the problem persists. The alarm maker has been in business for a long time.

Rumor has it that the Austin plant failed FDA inspection.

More to come..........

Weekly recall update from Hospira's Alligator swamp. This would have most likely come from the Austin plant that just recently received 19 observations from FDA. Facility in bad state of repair. Now has moldy product. Waiting for the Hospira spin on this problem. Stay tuned....

"Mold found in Hospira dextrose solution
Voluntary recall undertaken after leaky product reported"

Guess this means more office jobs and senior management positions open up. That will cure the ills for sure.

Problem is most likely from the area they try to keep FDA away from. Extrusion!!!
Place is notorious for not following SOP's.

thats right, lack of respect for management, less people on the floor that actually make a product, but adding more people in the offices, infact running out of room for them, putting portable buildings up, this place <austin> is turning into a real shithole

That Rosie news was short lived........

Injectable-drugs maker Hospira Inc (HSP.N) withdrew the 2013 profit and revenue outlook it gave on Wednesday after the U.S. health regulator imposed an import ban on some of its products.
