November 1st, a Tuesday you will receive a voicemail from either your dm or his boss. You will then wait for "the call" on Wednesday, November 2nd.

The numbers I heard was consistently a 40% headcount reduction due to Diovan expiry.

I felt compelled to let you know...

I have no insight on any other sales force and if they have any plans for a reorg.

I don't think you have any insight into this PC.
Are the the mole? If you are trying to stir up trouble go somewhere else.
You don't get a Voicemail from you boss. Think about how it was done last year.
There was no VM from my boss or his or her boss. No one even uses Vm anymore anyway

This is Joe Jimenez, there will be NO, I repeat there will be NO reduction in field force numbers just as there was no reduction in field force numbers last year. Believe me, you can trust me.

Joe J.

AMEN to that Joe! You are my hero, I admire you for been straightforward with us, you came to Novartis and saved it from the debacle it was in...oops I was having a nightmare!

If you recall, we received a vm from Brian Goff that said, "I ask that you suspend all field based activities and await a critical communication from your manager regarding your role in the re-org....blah blahblah..."

My manager just asked for all of his reps to send him their remaining lunch and program dates from now through the end of the year. Anyone else have this happen yet?

NO

Well, a year and a half ago in April, the Michigan Region had a separate layoff that preceded the Nation layoff in November -- and the Managing Director's secretary notified reps via corporate voicemail they had "a phone appointment" with the MD. Some reps thought the call might be a promotion or a talk about "best practices." Instead it was their layoff notice. So maybe EH Corporate is adopting this approach as a best practice...

They did that before they laid off people in the past. Remember when we were told to book programs in our territory for January, February and March 09 when we were not sure who was going to have those territories. Geniuses behind Novartis.

This is the deal, whether it is this time, or another time, the primary care field force will be reduced to a 1 rep per territory setup. This is the best way that you can be held accountable and it is the only way that the company gets the maximum results for the money they spend.

They will probably do that when Reclast is gone

Wouldn't surprise me and your recollection of the April cuts is exactly correct.
