How long do you think though before they start making decisions on who’s staying and who’s going?
 






OBU predictions? What do you think will happen to those folks? Takeda doesn’t have an eye care unit. Do you think they’ll keep them or pay down debt and sell them off?
How soon will they know what’s going on with the decisions for this unit to be made?

Takeda can lay off from their company, and shire can do the same. But the buyout needs to be approved by the EU regulatory and the US regulatory, and until then, the companies must be run separate from each other. After that, bit of a crapshoot. Good people will be let go from both.
 












You're all forgetting that Shire and Takeda could agree to pair down their workforces PRIOR to the close date. I doubt that wil happen, but if you think whole divisions will stay as is then I have a bridge in Brooklyn I can sell to you.

You will have a couple months after the close for the integration to happen. They will then significantly reduce the numbers of people, that is a given. Sales, marketing, ops, whole departments will be merged and efficiencies will be made.
 


















I am so glad that I left Shire. The writing was on the wall and I left before the Titanic sunk. Let us watch now as Takeda destroys and wipes out the rotten culture that is Shire. Then they will see how the Baxalta crew felt. Karma is really a bitch isn't it. Here's a toast to all the people who got out, and made it onto great careers.
 






Yup, glad I left a couple months ago. Too much chaos for way too long. Have a job i love now, with good pay and minimal stress. AND they appreciate what I'm doing for them. Good luck to everyone who's still there.

To trick fools like me and you who won't look for another job as long as leaders are telling us everything is ok. If there were really a problem would we still be hiring??? Just hang in there everything is great.... oldest trick in the book and I have been fooled before and my boss is so sneaky I am being tricked again

What are we supposed to tell you? You are adults and can figure it out. I am a regional director and would lose my job if I told my Representatives anything other then everything is okay. I have a family to take care of as well and can't afford to lose my job. Regardless of what our job title is we all get paid to make strategic business decisions on a daily basis. We all have decisions to make regarding our futures at this time. As much as I care for most of the representatives I am over. You never know who you can trust fully. So you have to stick with exactly what is coming down from your Zone director
 












My prediction: FO needs this sale, the Board needs it too. If it falls apart there is no hiding from the drastic decline - FO will be blamed and investors will revolt. As for Neuro- MR is praying this happens.... he knows the gig is up the sales force knows he is an idiot and has no clue what he is doing. Prediction FO sells out the good people of Shire to save his own @ss
