23 - most recently a dsm
12 years with SA-second oldest in pod-they got rid of the second newest too-We both had excellent ratings - the youngest had three belows in a row-the oldest never ever won anything. I guess they have a computer generated program that balances stuff
I wonder if the dollars saved in your 401K could play a part. Can they legally see the balance? Some take advantage others don't. Some have accumulated tons through 401K and look well seasoned for retirement.
I'm over 50 and in over 15 years with many awards and still here for a few more months I figure. I found out that they are pushing out (managing out) many over 40 if they have been here a while (over 10 years), as other threads have said. Yes, they are making drive times challenging to insentivise people to leave. I feel bad for the good managers who are left and what they are dealing with. They have to drink the coolaid to carry on much of this. The company doesn't want to pay severance and they really aren't interested in the best of the best. They want attrition still. They will rehire some - where needed and for much less dollars (and they will have less benefits in the form of 401K match and vacation time and pay) They do have to balance it out by laying off younger as well, but if you watch through each layoff, they are systematically laying off the older rep's who have been in the longest (go back a few years and think through who has been let go). The only thing is if you are about 59 or older they are leaving them to retire on their own - they need a token few and again they don't want to pay that much severance and they figure most have enough saved to retire well before the standard age retirement. It is all related to the all mighty dollar. I really don't care at this point. They have ruined a great sales force.
