Depomed stock price hits all time high. Reps are rewzrded with:
1. New call plan brought to you by wonder boy JV. No changes allowed regardless of past history of calls and momentium. JV knows your territory better than you. High focus on Medicaid providers because JV said so they were taking them out and he wouldn't want these providers to raise your quota.
2. Quotas set so high profitability goes up because commisions won't have to be paid. But still have untapped bonus structure because JV knows what will motivate us.
3. If you are at 50% to goal for Cambia you are a star. Pass history does not matter because JV knows best.
4. Begging providers to do teleconfrence programs because providers love to listen to phone calls while they get a break from seeing 30 patients a day, 2 days to get them in system allowed for best prospects to be picked. The last thing you would expect is.for the product managers to talk to each other so they don't all happen the same weeks.
5. Mass paperwork and trackers for programs and call plans but keep your 9 calls a day. If you weren't so lazy this would be easy, 6. New company cars that you have the honor of paying the full lease price plus some more. Helps in the profit margin so stock price goes up, Ford Escape lease price is $180 a month. We pay $200. 9. The ACA will have very little effect on sales. High deductables for medicine is just an excuse. The new price increase should be a big help growing your business. It is all about value and $300 s month (with co-pay card) is nothing. Thats why the quotas were raised
10. Depomed is the land of opportunity. Just look at how big the new hire training classes are

I wish i could poke big holes in this, but unfortunately, most of this is true. As someone who has been both in the field and in the home office, I am still amazed that JV aka The HR Nightmare, is still allowed to run the ship in Sales Ops. Those closest to him fear him, and those that were in Sales Ops and left know the frustration and sheer awful feeling it is to work with him.

Im sure in his private life he's a good dad, good husband, etc etc - but how he maintains a position of authority in this company is amazing to me.
 






#11. Releasing quotas 10 weeks into a 16 week POA. Even if JV and SG are the most honest people in the pharma industry the unethical question of fairness vs profit must be asked. I'm sure CEO James Schoenek just released his forcast for the 1st quarter. of 2014 to Wall Street investors yesterday. I am also confident that our quotas are the same as Wall Street forcast. After all isn't it the same numbers?.
 






where did these goals come from? what happened to SG saying this would be the best POA payouts and us all clapping for it? these attainments are awful!!!! I get that trends arent great but if everyone is way way way under goal, then the goals are wrong!!!!!!!!!!!! Another swing and miss by JV.
 






Seems like the main problem is that we don't have anyone who knows shit about analytics. If we did, the numbers wouldn't change so quickly and forecasting quotas could be done months in advance. A solid forecast doesn't change.
