I can understand your frustration and it would be nice if they would announce it officially. One of the previous Pharma companies I worked for was much more considerate about it. They let us know officially 4 months in advance that the layoffs were coming. They sent e-mails and kept us notified throughout the process. They also still paid the 90 days in severance as part of the requirement of the WARN ACT even though technically they probably didn't have to since they kept us informed. They even encouraged everyone to start looking for a job.You work just the same as you do now and yet in a way you worry less and feel better prepared when it finally does happen which is why the Novartis sneak layoff attack is psychologically not helping anyone including Novartis.
You don't need one of those airplanes to fly over your house with a banner to get the answer to your question. "THEY ARE LAYING OFF". "IF YOUR DBM HASN'T TOLD YOU IT'S BECAUSE HE PROBABLY KNOWS LESS THAN YOU WHAT THE DETAILS ARE" BUT here it is the answer!! "THEY ARE LAYING OFF" !!!! They have begun the process by consolidating the regional manager positions. District managers and field reps are next. I hope that helps. It doesn't change the situation but it should give you some certainty to decide your next move.
