We will be fine.
Signed,
Senior leadership.
By fine I mean me and not you. I will be paid whether the company makes it or not.
That's been the major problem for the last few years. Senior management looking out for their best interests, and not the shareholders, pre-term patients, 3rd party payers, or interested groups like March of Dimes. Management greed has been the major driver of this company, and that drove the company into bankruptcy.
Stupidity or greed? Surely the management is greedy. This can be demonstrated by the outrageous salaries/stock options/perks at a time that the company thrust itself into bankruptcy. However, if you look at some of the decisions that this management team made over the last 4 years (i.e. refusing to meaningfully reduce the price of Makena, suing the FDA and the States, misunderstanding the exclusivity provisions of the Orphan Drug Act, souring the relationship it had with March of Dimes, selling off the manufacturing facilities, terminating KV employees with manufacturing experience, and so on...), there is certainly evidence of plain old stupidity.

Please Help Me, I Need To Get THIS Out
Like taking candy from a baby!
Everyone has painted management as being stupid, but they really aren't. As you have pointed out, they have done a great job in protecting their own interests, making sure they keep their jobs and that their paychecks/bonuses keep coming. They have really milked this thing for a very long time.
So you think management isn't stupid? Whatever they have done to "milk" their positions at KV surely isn't sustainable. Revenues still pale compared to debt. The company is still in bankruptcy. The major product, Makena, still isn't doing very well (being prescribed to only 15% of threatened preterm pregnant women). Being voted the worst CEO two years in a row surely won't help Divis find employment after KV. In fact, I doubt if any of the current executive management of KV will be able to save their careers after KV....they have the dubious distinction of running a close to $700 Million company into bankruptcy in less than two years.
