I hope I am competing for the same territory as you. You really can't be this clueless can you? Ask the recruiter or hiring manager. You do know where headquarters is right?

Let me guess....a novartis primary care rep that took a lateral move to the MS division to sell Gilenya and now you think you have what it takes to land this job. Keep smoking what ever you're smoking.

Stop asking stupid questions and just get your ass prepared if you want to be considered a serious candidate. If not, pull your name. No one here is going to help you get a job within Genentech. Either find an internal who will be a source of input or move on.

Please excuse my ignorance. I am a external candidate without a internal referral for now. I know a Medical VP and could utilize their influence if needed.

What is so great about this MS Opportunity? I laughed at the P1 question form. "Are you interviewing with anyone else and how far along are you". I would also like to circle back to the GNE CLUB. Please let me know what I am missing? Trust me I want to WANT to be in with the cool kids. To me this job just seems like an opportunity to get micro-managed. Maybe I am missing the salary part. Does anyone know what the pay is? I most likely will turn the interview down if the base is any less than 125K and a minimum of 50K bonus.

In all seriousness. My current job has its issues that's why I'm putting my name in the hat.

Any information would be appreciated and any sarcastic reply would be GREATLY APPRECIATED.

Sorry to tell you that job isn't that hard no matter what product/division/disease state you sell for. I've seen reps act like they fucking discovered the drug they sell. If you were really THAT awesome, you wouldn't be doing this job. We are really all just trying to hang so let's show each other some respect for still being in this gig.

Schmuck! So you know the VP or something to peddle influence? And arrogant demand on not micro-managing or pay? Go eat shit asshole and thus the reason to look for internal candidates with history and CONNECTION, chump!

Internal hires seem to be what Genenech prefers. History and connections in MS? Let me know how that works out in a few months when you're trying to crawl back into oncology.

Just read all these MS threads and you will quickly realize that Gene is indeed big pharma. Heck, the MS bonus target is that of PC reps. All this talk of getting a low end pos Benz fleet car but PC reps at other companies get pensions. Hired on here at big pharma Roche and you get minimal vacation and better check your 401k match. Leave early and the added money is kept by Gene. I would check the fine print if you are given an offer plus you will be working with loads of gooks at our company.

Totally agree, this place seems like a snob fest country club. I'm on the list to move on, but I'm starting to second guess the move. The last thing I want is to be on a team with clueless oncology snobs.

Hi, this is Biff Sedgewick the Third here, replying to you comments. Do not worry my dear pharma friend, there won't be many oncology well-to-do's joining MS. As for those of lower social status in the realm of pharma sales, we will select you if you have the right pedigree. As for the prior poster with VP connections, please don't tell me that Troy C is backing you? Then again, he may enjoy "backing" you. Toodles!

It's comical that pharma or biotech reps create this higharchly within sales. It's sales. You either have what it takes to do sales or you don't. A good sales person can sell anything regardless of industry. Yes in this industry you have to Atleast have an interest in science or you shouldn't be in it but nonetheless these massive training departments bring you up to speed quickly. So go right ahead super Sr executive rep, make yourself think you're better then everyone else, youre do the same thing

Its comical that you think someone with no MS experience and knowledge of the key physicians will be successful becuase he has good selling skills. You will quickly learn that this space is not driven by efficacy or MVP sales people. Its much more complicated than that. I cannot wait to see after one year how many the gene chosen ones try to go back where they came from. This launch will be a cluster fuck and I will enjoy watching it from the otherside. Oh, and you better bet that I will create issues for you in the offices that I call on. It will be comical. The other comical thing is the oncology reps are the best at saying only they can be successful in the oncology space.

Hey Melvin, get over yourself. You're not god's gift to MS treatment and probably have to look in the mirror every day to say to yourself "I think I can, I think I can"

If you think someone who doesn't have MS but is a great salesperson won't succeed you're an idiot. Go ahead and try to create issues the offices will see it, not to mention the drug you sell is probably going to be inferior anyways. Don't be surprised if you don't get in, your attitude sucks!
