Im probably going to be placed on a PIP next week and I need some advice. My numbers have been great for the last several months. If I quit before they put me on a PIP this week will I get my Dec bonus because I was there for Dec? Like I said my numbers are great and early Dec VS looks amazing...

Bummer. Read the 2011 thr COMP plan slidedeck. It will give dates. If payout is after yr gone, don't think you'll get it bddy.

I am a long- standing PIP survivor. If you decide you want to challenge them, you must, repeat MUST hire an employment law PLANTIFF attorney. Do it ASAP if you want to fight!
I did and I won. And my numbers were not as good as yours. Otherwise, look for another job NOW.

Write jnj a letter or what?

Re: PIP advice - GET A LAWYER -- its WORTH IT!!

A decent labor atty will cost you $235-300/hr. A great one may cost 400 to 500 /hr if you are doing serious battle.

Your initial consult, talking points, tips for what you need to do, and a letter to HR will probably cost you 3-4 hrs of lawyer time. Your CAREER, LIVELIHOOD, FAMILY, PENSION are on the line . . . a few thousand bucks is chump change. Spend it . . . . the cost is minor.

You want to DEFEND yourself . . . if you plan to litigate for damages, you will need really good documentation, a long time frame about about $75K to put on the table. ..... my atty said -- yes you can likely win; it will cost your 75-100 k to win 100-150 k a few years from now . . . . and you may not like the impact on your career options.

GOOD LUCK

.... not to mention the drain of fighting a nasty battle.

Not worth fighting . You work for a company with no morals! The people are down right dirty and have no integrity. Get the "F" out now. I did and could not be happy over 2 yrs. Later. I have a great job where I can use my brain. You work for a bunch of communists who brainwash you to believe and say what ever they want you to. Grow a set and get out of the company. You will be a whole lot happier.

You do not have to pay this kind of upfront cost. Find yourself a good employment attorney that works on contingency. Believe it or not they are out there. I've seen 2 Janssen employees use these guys and won their cases with no upfront cost. However, the attorney will take half, but.....

A PIP is a shield for j&j that never improves the Rep.
How could it?
I've was threatened with a PIP once
and it was enough to improve my lot
by giving me reason to find a better company.

Reps and managers never go from good to bad and back to good.

In fact, get this! On the posts on bad DMs and paranoid DMs and let's face it are there any others HA HA! All you need to do is call the credo hotline with a complaint about your DM embellish it a little if you have to - they deserve it dont they? If at least one other person on the team will back you that DM is on their way to Corr Action and one foot out the door!

There is no rythme or reason why some are put on PIP. Performance issues....NAH! Most have conflicts with there DM or RBD says each district must get rid of one. Do not take it personally only use your time to look for a new job. The grrass is definately greener outside of JNJ. Respect, sense of accomplishment, and actually taking pride in your job is all possible once you leave.

That confirms the fact that DMs and RBDs are liars who must CYA themselves to keep their jobs because they can't manage, coach or establish effective sales plans. I know that to be the case (no, I'm not on a PIP, but I see the incompetence and politics).
