I am in the interview process with the PICO division. Any advice. Serious comments only
Typical - of course you are not going to get a serious reply on this board! I am a current employee at S&N AWM division and although I do not sell PICO directly, there is tremendous opportunity to take PICO to the next level!!
Run away......PICO may amount to something, but the leadership is HORRIBLE at AWM now!
Even under the best of conditions, the average rep might sell approx. 50k of Pico a year. As with everything else, they lied to us when they said Pico is worth 300 million a year domestically, the entire Wound VAC market is worth 1million, particularly with Medicare reimbursements going down with competitive bidding. The most Pico will do domestically, is 2 to 2.5 million a year. It is a unique product, but how many times have you had this stuffed into your brains during the rah rah bs of NSM. It is simply a complementary product for closed wound specific, Ortho, Spine, Oncology. That is the ceiling. So, if you like selling a product which takes significant time verses putting glorified band aids on patients, like to have call backs over the weekend, yet still generate a whopping 4k per month, along with a tired old graft that is no Oasis, then go for it. Wrong product, wrong product mix, wrong timing, wrong leadership (although BA does make me laugh as he truly is the Lord of Douche).
You obviously don't know anything about what you are trying to talk about. There are absolutely some reps that are selling anywhere from $30K - $40K a month in PICO. Glorified band-aid...maybe, but docs and surgeons like it due to the ease of use and not having to deal with KCI. Did you really say the entire Wound Vac market is $1M/year?! If you are going to troll, at least try to be somewhat educated when you do it.
It's already selling 15 mill a year. Where are you getting 2-2.5 you are stupid and do not understand the business. It will be 60 mill soon.
No. It is you who are clueless. Check Prevena sales on close wounds by the 98 percent market leader. You have now have less than half percent market share. Yes Pico is different than Prevena but it doesn't matter. KCI is ditching Pico out of most facilities. The entire West Coast will be lucky to do 500k per ear. For every 40k per month rep, there are 20 lucky to do 2k per month. Many will be dumped but of course you will be untouchable.
The Sales continue to grow on a monthly basis. The proper focus with the right sales force is now selling the product. There is no other device out there on the market like pico and it's being adopted by both the physician and quality at top level institutions. It's a fun time to be part of this growth

I can happily say I don't work for these clowns anymore. Let me guess...I couldn't hack it, I coukdnt sell the bag, or I just wasn't good enough. They did me a HUGE favor my laying me off in December.
I think the micromanagement depends on who you work for. I don't have that but some others may. This has been a good place to be and yes you have to enter some calls which is pharm but it could be worse and unless you are some 1099 being independent is not a reality. The products are very good and the resources we have are endless. Sorry it didn't work out for you but I guess I am one of those satisfied employees and I see a great future here ahead
