Phone Interview

Was laid off as part of a large RIF, and a recruiter found me and I started the process for Zoll Life Vest.
I came here to Cafepharma to check out what people had to say about the job; when it is this overwhelmingly negative I was skeptical. I know the geography of the territory and it's especially awful...rural...poor...not much there...and far away from my home.

Had my phone interview with the Floodwater people...gosh do they remind me of used car/slick stock/sleazy sales people! Anyway the guy starts off with "I already have two candidates I'm moving forward to the RM stage so even if you 'knock my socks off' I can't promise you'll be moving on. Great...

When it came time for me to ask questions I was ready: "Why so much turnover (three reps in this territory in 1.5 years) in this territory?" His answer...'this job isn't for everyone'. "The recruiter said $157 K at plan; how realistic is that?" His answer after hemming and hawing 'well you have to perform; your quotas adjust every two weeks...some reps get there some do not'. I asked about authorization paperwork, reimbursement, getting paid etc and he said "good questions" but gave no answers. He then asked me "Are you serious about this job? It's for high energy hunters, who will work hard all day and even nights to get the job done...and your future manager is especially "driven"...." and I said... NO THANKS.

I'll collect my unemployment, look for a real job, and sleep good tonight! Thank you for all your comments on here, it was helpful in making my decision. Good luck, y'all!

Good insight. I agree with you that when you see so many negative comments one should be skeptical. The "circus" here is very real and you can't make this stuff up. I have never worked at a place that has this level of deception with individuals they bring on board. It is also hard to believe that a company can have this level of turn-over and really be ok thinking that it is all the people that have come and gone that are "not the right fit". The real issue here is that this is a company that people should stay away from even if desperate as this job, company and leadership will ruin your reputation for years to come.

I'm embarrassed to tell my family and friends how rough it really is. Until you have to get a credit card number from a patient while they are laying in their hospital bed, you can't understand.

That is after you have waited all day for Pittsburgh to screw up the paperwork, you have pissed off the doctor because the discharge is delayed and the nurses all want you out of there because you have been there all day. Do not come to this company if it is the last offer you have.

Original Poster Here;

The recruiter begged me to go ahead with the face to face interview, so I did.

While the Regional Manager was nice enough, he told me after about 15 minutes that 1) this job was beneath me 2) I wouldn't be happy 3) there are A LOT of nights, weekends, emergencies, and other stuff that will keep me from having a normal home life and 4) I should look for another job!

GOOD LUCK EVERYONE
