Phoenix ADHD Rep. Position

Be careful. Arizona is one of only a few states with no Medicaid/AHCCCS coverage for Vyvanse and Intuniv. If the territory has a large percentage of scripts in community based clinics it's going to be hard to compete. There is no reason to believe that either of the products are going to be added in the near future.

Manager is a good guy.

Yes, I've noticed that the Prodrug Vyvnase is not included in the AHCCCS/PHP Formulary. Cannot speak on behalf of the Manager, as I don't think I've met him... Arizona is not known as 'the Kentucky of the Southwest' because it's famous for it's chicken or blue grass. And due to the fact the state is, as of 10/01 requiring people who are on AHCCCS who are unemployed and/or disabled (but continue to have valid claims kicked back by social security) to cough up minimum co-pays for each Rx of $4 per, despite having no valid source of income.. that's an outright sucker punch. The state got their 1 cent tax increase that was alleged to 'keep schools and services at their current levels' and the poorest of the poor are paying that tax *plus" they are further fleeced by the state which, BTW, *insists* on a certain number of visits to a Physician or one is dropped from AHCCCS due to 'non-use.' Oh yes, and these clinics will suddenly demand a urine test for people for prior pain management patients who they're out-sourcing. They do not inform these people beforehand that they will be charged 25 bucks for this test by a clinic that is referring them to someone else.

As for the ADHD drugs available via the Formulary, there is not a lot of wiggle room. Pretty much the standard generics (Concerta may be the sole exception). Mohave County is experiencing a serious case of 'Musical Doctors', as well. Don't know from one week to the next who your Primary Care Physician is... they're fleeing the clinics and leaving the area in droves.

I am prepared to get blasted for this post, however I am hopping one or two kind soles will help me with the following information.

I have recently be relocated to AZ and am searching for a no nonsense pysch to help me get my appropriatly diagnosed adhd medication.
I would like to be able to do it without having to take multiple test my previous psychologist and psychiatrist had me do ( only 9 months ago). if you know a provider that diagnosis and treats adult ADHD and think that the medical records and referall from an out of state MD would send over would suffice, would you be so kind to list the doctors name.

I am a legitimate patient, who as a child tool cylert( liver issues) then methaphenadate (spelling sorry)then dextroaphetime (work ok) then adderall (life safer, worked great)......after college I wanted to go into law enforcement and for whatever reason my doctor felt it would be best to take provigel (drug screening I think) that drug did nothing for me. I have been in the law enforcement arena for a few years and spoke in confidence with my Captain about my ADHD, he stated that he would be happier to have me "being properly treated" and "running on all cylinders" then being under treated and having to deal with the problems that might cause.
So went to the psych, he refereed me to a psychologist who ran a bunch of test that I described about. The confirmatory the diagnosis buy put me on a in effective drug called strattera (sp). The pysch then put me on vyanse, it seemed to work good but my prescription has run out.

I felt it was important to tell you guys my history (hopefully to add to its validity) and to appeal to you for assistance. The girl I am dating is a device rep ( she only knows surgeons not pysch/o) and mentioned I should go on this site for guidance.

to keep a long story from being longer - it would be great to get a few names of adult pyschs in the tempe/gilbert/chandler area that you think could be of assistance. I am not sure of the rules of your company/cafepharma/industry, so if it is not appropriate to provide names, would you be able to give me names of community groups or national organizations that provide patient education.

- a guy who just wants to get better and limit the embarrassing question of ( do you often forget things, do you often interrupt, do you find it difficult to pay attention in meetings)

PS
my answer is yes and then some to the questions listed above.
