The top 10 industries which will never recover, according to Wall St. includes Pharmaceuticals. Therefore, if you have been downsized, or have not admitted to yourself, you are in a dead-end job,(which will probably be eliminated down the road) start thinking about reinventing yourself. The benefits at Pharma will be gone, as well as, the salaries and bonuses. The next couple of years will be interesting for Pharma, as people will recognize, the Big Days of Pharma Sales are gone. Actually, the Industry will have a hard time finding people who will want to work for them, for obvious reasons.

Airline, automotive, real estate, telcom, bank tellers, newspapers, installation maintenance and repair, construction, and govt jobs

Abbott is laying off 1,900 this week........Be prepared for a job loss in pharmaceuticals at anytime. (This includes BI) Do not wait until you are layed-off to start preparing for another job/career.

Not as we know them. Maybe a few medical science liaisons, sample dumpers 1/2 salary and no detail, a few specialty.

I'm honestly surprised that this did not happen about ten years ago. The sales side of pharma will never recover; however, there will be divisions that will be fine. All of the technology available coupled with unemployment will yield the above post. Reps are dwindling in ability to control anything sales related and are nothing but a liability to a company.
