Pfizer (PFE) has won a major battle in its quest to widen the market for its controversial smoking cessation pill ‘Chantix’. Though this won the FDA approval almost a decade ago, several mental health issues by patients forced the FDA to impose the ‘black box’ warning. Since then, the pharma giant has been trying to persuade the regulators to revoke the black box warnings.
After several attempts, the FDA panel has finally recommended removing the most serious warnings from Chantix.
With latest move, Pfizer is definitely on my watchlist.
