Pfizer/Hospira

Y'all will be officially Pf*cked once they start cutting. If you think the first round was bad, wait until they announce the second and third rounds in three and six months. That's what happened to all of us former Pharmacia people.

Hospira personnel will be okay! I would be more concerned for Pfizer

What the hell are you smoking?

HQ staff = first to go = everything moves to New York or Collegeville
Generic hospital sales = BYE BYE = Pfizer needs no hospital staff
Pump/equipment = BYE BYE = they will sell out that business to avoid more liability
Biosimilars = Maybe = Why they bought you
Manufacturing = Your f*cked up management gone = Pfizer replacements
Everybody else = GONE GONE GONE

Think you are safe? HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA...ask all of those former Pharmacia, Parke-Davis or Wyeth people who were let go within weeks. Pfizer doesn't do ANYTHING without a plan. Ian Read doesn't give a damn. Mike Ball sold you out the minute he could.

What was it that George Santayana said about history? Sorry my friend but you may want to ask some of the former Warner Lambert, Pharmacia, Wyeth and countless others about their merger experiences...

I heard of one story where one of the companies being acquired had a bunch of execs attending a conference. Before a cocktail reception, they were all summoned to a meeting and given their dismissals and the folks doing the firing came out and grabbed a drink like nothing had happened after it was over.

The one thing that you may have going for you is that tons of the GEP folks are old Wyeth so they may "get it"...but hate to tell you but big blue is about to undergo a pretty large culling so likely you are the first over the side.

Those of us who were with Pfizer shortly after the merger with Pharmacia saw first-hand how they do things. Some of us were sent for "retraining" at their facility near White Plains. We had to pass each test or out the door. After every test, we would go to lunch. Those who went back upstairs to go into the training center but had not made it had drivers holding signs with their names. Out they went. The few of us who stayed were later let go in the inevitable "realignments" that occur EVERY year. Pfizer never stops laying off people. There are some long-termers, but that just means they have something on somebody and will slit their throat if someone tries to fire them.

If you are an employee at HQ, then you go into the office in the morning thinking you are okay. When your badge does not work to get to the elevators, HR is right across from the elevators and the security guard directs you there. That means it's the end and you are gone. They will not let you back into your office and security will pack your crap and send it to you. Happened more times to people I knew than I care to count.

Don't be fooled by the bullcrap you hear from your manager. They are already looking for other jobs themselves and they probably already know who is gone. If you don't hear from your manager for more than three days--that means they know and you are history.

Hate to be so blunt, but that's the way the Big Blue $h!tb@g works. No warnings, no PIPs, no notice--just out the door and they will find a way. If you see one or more of your expense reports audited--they are in the process. Manager rides with you twice in a month? Same.

Believe it--because Pfizer has no intention of keeping the pump, IV supply or any other business except the biosimilars. Don't fool yourself into thinking they won't jettison those--that's what they did to every other non-pharmaceutical business unit they have.

I have told myself that and after the call I'm telling you the same. Hospira will be safe. Pfizer, not so much! Thank JL and CB. Your the best.

Wow are you in denial, I left Hospira aprox. 2 months after announcement. I knew what was coming down and I got my new job before the rest of you are all in line trying to find one..

If i recall correctly the internal announcement said Quote"We will be evaluating all Hospira sites and employees and will retain SELECT talent" Select meaning if you ain't the one who invented or working on Biosimilars , your ass is gone. But GoodLuck, you wouldn't be posting on this board unless you were scared SHitless about your job.

I'm hear to see if they have sent in the axe murders yet.

Pfizer used to have great benefits. Zero dollar copay for ANY prescription, platinum-level health coverage, pension and 401K. Now everything changed and from what I hear from my friends still on that side, they have gone to hell.

What a choice--like between jumping off a cliff or being pushed.

Deluded much? If you aren't in in the biosimilars or their manufacturing, you are GONE. Kind of like your sanity if you think you stand a damned chance of being retained if you are a run of the mill rep, HQ staff or management.

They don't need your a$$ sitting around pretending to be selling generics--Pfizer is a GPO-driven company and could give two $h!t$ about pull-through.
