Pfizer / AZ buyout?

Current Syn issue aside, how does anyone see this Pfizer thing playing out for Medi specialty field force on ID side? Pfizer has a Peds vax division already from buying Wyeth a few years back. This isn't looking pretty. Anyone?

No, not looking good, unfortunately. Even if the COID works out better than we think, the Pfizer deal will go through and will be the demise for most of us. Synagis is losing its patent, Flumist has always been something the company wanted to get rid of, but couldn't. The vaccine division will take up FM and probably what is left of Synagis. It may not mean all of field sales will be gone, but it means 80% of us. This is what Pfizer agreed to in the UK, and this is what they will apply to us. Any overlapping functionalities will be gone all together. The process will not take long because they already have plans in place for each division. It's not like they want to buy AZ and then try to figure it all out.

Please Get real.
Pfizer has many more important or useless parts of AZ to kill before Medi. 1) they will shut down everything in Sweden. Then corporate in London, after that all AZ commercial and country offices. Then after they finish with these will be looking at US operations. I do not think they will kill MEDI knowing that is the only place where new drugs are coming from...
