I was going to say that he is an idiot and should have been fired for incompetence years ago. But let's give the man credit. He has been able to hang on for 9+ years with absolutely nothing to show for it. Meanwhille he has been collecting a $10 million salary + bonus. What other job in the world would pay so well while wasting billions of dollars with nothing to show for it (Rosetta, SiRNA, etc)

It does not take genius to be retained by idiots. Politically savvy is probably a more apt description.
 




If the genius moniker is given to those who can con leaders of organizations in order to be tremendously self-serving, then I agree that Peter Kim deserves it.

I wonder what the little old lady, who has to decide between buying food and her meds, thinks about Peter?

Say it ain't so, Joe. He would be worse than Peter was. I can't believe Ken Frazier hasn't held Peter accountable for his total lack of leadership. Forget the failures of drug discovery. He can't manage, tolerate criticism, inspire, think strategically or build a company.
 




Think of all the jobs that could have been saved (like mine) if they let him go, no they hold on to him and let hard working people go. thats why their stock hasn't done crap
 








Peter pushed for pulling VIOXX instead of a black box warning. How much did VIOXX cost us again and who was held accountable? How much did the vaccine manufactuing issues cost us and who was held accountable?
 








Sirna as a Merck site is gone. But siRNA as a research tool stays. It has its limited value to keep certain managers (including Kim) feel good and scientists who use siRNA happy because they can publish a few papers. Plus, it can help validate targets in the liver. Other than that, siRNA has been useless for drug discovery. Dont believe anything else about siRNA!
