I received a phone call to apply for a territory in NY...I'm in TX and applied to the TX territory. The phone call urged me to apply...

What does this mean? Why is it happening? ....?

What territory in NY? that is strange, but they said your territory isnt available and the NY territory is? so you are offered a position there? does that mean that the TX position has been filled?? I guess i wouldnt go to NY though, i guess it depends where ughhh thats frustrating

No, they didn't say that the territory in TX was gone, but that they encouraged me to apply to NY. I don't mind moving, I just want to know what it means? Does it mean that the territory in TX is being eliminated? Or is it something else?

I don't know :/

Spoof....

company does not need people to move from TX to NY, unless you have elected relocatable. But in that case they would have processed you application. So stay where you are, and look for other company job.

If you have lived in the South, you will likely hate the fast-paced NY City, but rest of NY state is like rest of the country. Check out the weather -- this year's snow of 36 inches in one Nor-Easter. But if youare from Dallas/Houston/Austin/SA you may find NYC adjusting easy (need appropriate mental preparedness, I guess is what I' saying).

I knew a fellow Lilly rep who moved from a Northwest Kansas assignment to a Staten Island, New York assignment. When he would have hospital displays and would start to detail a product, the New York doctors would just walk away because he spoke so slowly....like the people in Kansas naturally do. Docs in New York want it fast and hard..bada bing, bada bang. Stay in Texas.

New York selling is awesome. You know just where you stand. If a doc has an objection they'll throw it in your face. It's better than waiting for the nice doctor in Kansas to finally confess they were never planning to use your drug after they strung you along for two years.

I wonder why they encouraged moving?? Does that mean that there are more positions in NY? are you following up with them?

Please don't tell me you're looking for real answers to these questions on Cafepharma? MUCH better resource than HR. What an idiot.
